That song always reminds me of the most spectacularly unfulfilling job I've ever had -- in particular of being down the pub with co-workers I mostly couldn't stand. Why I ever thought I would be any good at used bookselling when I am a capitalist pig I have NO idea.

However...how can you hate the M&S Food Porn TV Adverts??? I put the TV on mute and salivate...

I like watching them, but I don't like the music or that woman's annoying voice. I went to M&S today and got some zingy lemon cheesecakes and a beef casserole with dumplings. And some shortbread fingers. And 2 pints of milk. And some bananas. All that cost me nearly 8 quid. I'll miss M&S's food but I sure won't miss their prices. I know what you're thinking...why didn't you shop somewhere else, HA? I was too lazy to walk to the Sainsbury's.

Who is it that uses that 'Would You' song by Touch & Go...you know, the one where the girl keeps asking 'will you go to bed with me?' I can't for the life of me remember who uses that one.

Hee hee! I know what you mean. Back when I was miserable but well-off with Husband no.1 I used to do the weekly shop at M&S... oh the memories of summer puddings, and seeded batch loaf, and Connoiseur Mince Pies and...and...and none of it with a worry about rent or bills.

Now I am the wife of a poor PhD student-cum-actor and get my food from Tesco and the Co-op but at least I don't feel like sh!t anymore!!!

Marks and Spencer is the only thing that passes for a supermarket in York's city center; there's a Sainsbury's outside the bar walls but it's a real trek to the bus stop with full shopping bags and there's nowhere to sit down...and the 16 only runs every half hour. Excuses, excuses!

First of all, M&S dumplings are HEAVEN.

Secondly, annoying M&S Voice Woman is Dervla Kirwan. Just some trivia!
