I feel like we are getting the run around in Tokyo. Here the story..Last month we receive our Noa2(for our I-130) and a letter from Tokyo telling us what was needed for the Ir-1 visa. This envelope had a blank ds-230.We decided to apply for an interview via the website and that was 5-3-07.After one week of not hearing anything, i made my 1st call to the tokyo embassy(which cost $15 bucks for 15 mins). Then they tell me on the phone we need to send/fax the ds-230(this was never mentioned in the instructions for the IR-1 visa. Then, the lady told me she could contact me later that week. But she didnt..nobody did.
So, i waited another week...nothing so i called for the 2nd time(now its $30 bucks wasted in total)on friday the 18th and they told they didnt know and they would fax me the info later. So, they called me and said it going to take longer.Im trying to find out why??? they dont know whats going on and why its so difficult to give us a date or telling us about our case.
any advice??? because we were hoping to have the interview this month.

does anyone have any advice for me??

when you got the packet called 3 from the embassy you supposed to send back using the mail system the DS-230 part 1 and to fax them the checklist if you are ready with all the docs. after that, the embassy will send you packet 4 with the interview date. good.gif

hey k.

i was just in toyko two weeks ago. we made an appointment and turned in the I-130 in person when that appointment date came up. we also turned that in along with the I-864, DS230 (all except for the last portion unsigned), G325, and other paperwork such as marriage certificate and birth certificates. there was no faxing and it all had to be done in person.

then just last saturday we received permission to schedule an appointment after we get the medical check and police report finished. when those are done we will schedule the final interview and go to tokyo again. that should be the end of it.

did you turn the DS230 in to the embassy when you went for that first interview? did you forget to turn something in? do you have copies of everything you turned in?

since this case seems rare (but plausible, don't get me wrong, this is america after all) i don't know if anyone can help. maybe you might need to schedule another appointment and go back to the place again? how long will it take to get to tokyo?
