ok, we got our packet and gathered our documents and sent our form in, ready and waiting for our interview date...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...

we sent our form in way back in March; how long have people had to wait until they received an interview date?

annasherwood: yep, we're a textbook example of London DCF, in that from start to (hopefully!) finish our process is 5 months almost to the day. We sent our interview checklist back on 26 April, and we got an interview date on the 18 May, so it took us around 3 weeks for Packet 4 with the all-important interview date to arrive.

You sent yours in March? At this point, I would definitely follow up to see if they received the checklist. Try calling the Department of State on 001 202 663 1225 and speak to an operator. Make sure you have your case number ready (the one that starts LND200...). They are really nice at the DoS and have the info on your case on their system -- they'll be able to see if the checklist has been received. I called them obsessively in the week leading up to my Packet 4 arriving, and was able to track the arrival of the medical report into the system, our file being reviewed, etc. Don't bother with the Visa Info Line touted on the Embassy -- at £1.20/min it's a rip-off and they're known to be less clued-up than the DoS.

Good luck! Hope you get this resolved quickly! good.gif

Don't see why it wouldn't work...as you're in Canada, you'll need your case number which starts MTL200... This would have come with Packet 3.

There was some debate last week over in the UK forum about how appropriate it was to call the DoS when they were in Washington and the UK visa info line is in London -- you might think the UK would have more info but WRONG. Some VJers thought this was NOT the way we were supposed to do things and debate got a little, uh, vigorous. (*shudders*) But I will tell you this -- it works. I've done it, others have done it (UK and other countries) and I don't see why we shouldn't call the DoS for an update every so often. It's not a trick or "working the system" -- it is the public visa info line and it exists for us applicants to ask questions.

So give 'em a call! good.gif
