AussieDude
Hi all,

I'm sure this has appeared elsewhere, but I wanted to make a double check with someone else who has done this recently.

I was looking through the NSW Police website to see what I need to do to get a police check done.

The first thing is that the form number has changed from what is mentioned in Packet 3 from the embassy (I picked up the packet around December so its probably a little older than that).

I realise that I have to choose the 'with fingerprint' option. My questions are, on the form you're asked to nominate where it will be sent. Can I pick them up myself to take along to the interview or do I need to have it sent to the embassy in which case do I need to instruct the police to mark it a certain way.

My other question is a little more minor. The interview for the police check is supposed to be done at your local police station. I live in the North West of Sydney, I live closer to the Pennant Hills police station, but my workplace is closer to the Eastwood police station. Both are in the Eastwood local area command. Does anyone know if I can get it done at Eastwood as it would be closer to work? This isn't a big deal, its a minor thing really.

Thanks to all!

Aussiedude.

I had mine sent to me that way i knew i had it and i knew it was correct. as far as i know you can go into any police station in nsw it does not have to be the one closest to where you live. just make sure you take your passport and make sure you tell them it is for a visa so it has to be done with fingerprints. hope this helps

aussie dude,

as aussie angel said, get them to send it to you.

as to which police station you have to go to...you need to go to the police station that does fingerprints (not all of them do) that is nearest to where you live. i know it sux but that's the way it is.

when i got mine done last year i was working in the city and had to leave work at lunch and drive all the way back to hurstville to get them done...also, don't forget to ring them first an see if you have to make an appointment.

hope this helps.
