Hi UK Vj'ers,

Looking at my timeline below, what advice would you give as to what to do next, a few questions keep popping into my mind.

Will the IR/CR1 route be quicker now?

Can we just continue both petitions and see what one comes first?

Can both Petitons continue even if we start the NVC processing for I130?

What part does NVC play now, they know we filled the I130 in conjunction with K-3 so will they even send us the DS230 and I864 forms??

How long do you think it would take from now to get a interview in London?

What would you do in our situation?

First of all congratulations on the approval. All I can say is that Jon and I choose the CR1 route because it saves adjusting status in the USA. These maybe the kind of questions you need to ask in the K3 forum good.gif

In your situation, I would hope and push for the CR1 process to continue. When your spouse arrives in the US on an immigrant visa and doesn't have to worry about applying for work authorisation or filling for Adjustment of status, you will be very very happy. I would definitely start NVC processing for the I130 asap. Since it was approved first, it shouldn't take too much longer at the consulate stage than waiting for the I129f approval and putting that through the consulate stage.

A good question for you guys to discuss is how desperate you are to shave a month maybe two off your temporary time apart. If that extra time together is worth quite a lot of fees as well as a few months of your UK spouse not being able to work, then you should find out how to make the K3 happen. If money is tight, you will be happier and more secure in the long run with the CR1.

Yep, i think your right, thankyou for your reply. I think we may just get on sorting out the NVC stuff asap and continue BOTH, whatever one comes first we will be happy, i mean i would much prefer the IR/CR1 visa but if the K-3 ends up coming up with an interview first then so be it, we really want to be re-united.

Sounds like a good plan. smile.gif If the K3 interview does come up first but the CR1 seems close, ask here again for advice on how to get the K3 interview into a CR1 one. I've heard of people being able to do that.

Cool, thankyou very much i will do! smile.gif
