Just to get things going on the next step after NVC. Us January CSC filers seem to be a cohesive and supportive group. I would like to keep this trend going to the interview. Thanks for all your support guys/gals!!! Lets keep this train choo-chooing (sp)
Well, Wendy will be faxing packet 3 to the embassy tomorrow. She will also snail mail it to the Bogota embassy tomorrow. Anyone else at this stage already??
Any Jan. CSC filers with interview dates already?

I am thinking I
could be at the packet 3 stage by now because my fiancee has all the documents ready. I had a few unanswered questions maybe you might have seen in your process. The packet 3 from warsaw has a IV/F04(WRW-1) which is the checklist.
Example form here...My question is first. On top it says "Priority Date". Is that something that needs to be filled out by my fiancee? I am the petitioner and I cannot remember seeing this anywhere.
2nd question. I think you are only supposed to send back the check-list... without attachments. Right? Like no DS-230 Part 1, or what is that form OF-167, Evidence Which May be Presented to Meet the Public Charge Provision of the Law??? It is an enclosure... but I cannot find an example anyone on the embassy site what that form looks like. Then later you read in the checklist to just send back the checklist.
Sooo.. my final thoughts are... I believe in packet 3 you JUST send back the checklist to the embassy via e-mail. And I assume that when you found out that your case got to the embassy you decided to submit packet 3 to put the wheels in motion quicker... right?
You are the first to write here on this new milestone for Jan CSC filers , and I am interested in hearing what ya did

Jason,
After reading the attached page. Your packet 3 consists of 2 forms, WRW-1 (checklist) and the DS-230 part 1. It says you have to send forms WRW-1 and DS-230 part I (pages 1 and 2) to be scheduled for an interview.
Please verify with other members going thru Warsaw.

Thanks a 'Bunch' again. hehe. Hey, here is some interesting information to others out there that I found in the 'Embassy Info' section in VisaJourney,
here. Interesting enough... "What forms should be send back to the Consulate? Only checklist", then it goes on to explain the following:
(DS-230 is NOT required, this is a common misunderstanding, since the checklist is issued for both K1, K2, K3 and other visas. DS-230 is required for immigrant visas. K1 visa is not an immigrant visa)
And based on that "Packet 3 Contains: 1. checklist, 2. form used to receive police certificate"... so just the checklist I guess. Anyway, too much being sent is not a bad thing. I'll stick with lucho on this one.
So the interview is creeping around the corner! I can't believe we are already so close to this step. It has been nine months now since I have seen my fiancee. The wait is almost over. Is it safe to say when you book the flight for the interview in Poland, that it is kinda safe to at least reserve/book the flight to Miami? I strongly believe the my case is pretty cut and dry. And more and more that a simple case where no children are involved, or if you have never been married before, you do not need a lawyer. Doing things on your own is not hard. I do have to admit that if you do not have good organization skills, patience, or your are a bit illiterate... a lawyer might be a good idea. But for the simple fact that I, a well educated person with a university degree, cannot understand clearly what is being said on the checklist for the items to be returned... a lawyer who does this day and night might have helped. But, again... interview is coming... I feel it!
I am so happy to be here with many other folks in similar situations and being able to share our experiences to get through all this. Many of us are doing this alone and it is all possible for us to communicate and help one another because of the internet... and VisaJourney.com.
Good luck at the interviews!!

I'm an early Jan filer. Tell Wendy not to bother mailing the Packet#3, it not required. Fax only thr DS-230 part 1 and the OF-169 to the embassy. Check out these 2 links: packet#3=http://bogota.usembassy.gov/wwwfck1instrucciones_temp.pdf packet#4=http://bogota.usembassy.gov/wwwfcivappointment_temp.pdf
You will receive packet#4 in 2-3 weeks depending on where Wendy lives. Mine fiancee is from Cali and we faxed the documents on May 1 and received packet#4 by mail on May 17. If you don't receive Packet#4 in 2 weeks do one or the other: get Wendy to fax a letter to the consular section ( put name, phone no.,case no. and the problem). They will call her back and tell her the appointment date and resend her another packet#4 or you can call the Visa Help Center @ 202.663.1225 between 8:30am & 5pm ET (call @ 8:30) ask them to look and see if you have an appt. Provide your case number and Wendy's full name. Since you faxed the documents after the 15th, which is the cut-off date for June appts., Your appt. might be in July(probably 1st week)or maybe you'll get lucky and get an appt. the last week of June. Go look @ my timeline and get an idea for your appt. date. I guessed@ our appt. date when we received the NOA2 and only missed it by 5 days. June 6th. Good luck!!! jeff

the fax machine usually gives a receipt when the fax goes thru or wait for the phone call. Maria faxed them twice and called back twice( concerning packet#3). jeff

Tomorrow she will e-mail it just in case because she wrote in blue ink and it did not come out so well in the first scan. So she wrote over it in black ink and will scan it again. She will e-mail the forms tomorrow if they tell her that she did not get the fax when she calls. She is also going to try and get a little info on maybe getting a push for the july interview date. If she speaks as well as I do.. who knows?!

I think that is only true of Warsaw -- London requires it:
http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...processing.htmlQUOTE
The biographic data form DS-23O-I should be completed for each person applying for a visa, regardless of age. The form may be photocopied if insufficient copies are received for each family member. The DS-230-I should be completed and returned immediately to the Immigrant Visa Unit at 5 Upper Grosvenor Street, London, W1A 2JB, in order for the Embassy to begin the administrative processing of the application. Failure to return the DS-230-I promptly will delay the processing of the application. At the same time, please complete and return the form DS-156 and DS-156K and DS-157 if applicable. Note: Please do not sign the the DS-156 or DS-156K. The forms must be signed before a consular officer on the day of the visa interview.
Bears repeating: different consulates have different instructions!
We're going to send off Packet 3 tomorrow or Wednesday! YIPPEE!

Well.. believe it or not.. I wrote that quote off of the Warsaw page in the Embassy section of VJ. And... after reading the Warsaw US Embassy web site and calling them on the phone and reading the checklist... Warsaw does require it. This reminds me kinda of a common occurance on here where people end up making rules up, and false claims to what needs to be done and what doesn't. I also keep leaning towards this idea of just following directions. Even though the directions have not been totalllly clear at times, the process is still pretty basic and has not caused any headaches for me thus far.

I am sooo anxious to hear about the interview date! I know that my Fiancee will call them on Tuesday to see what the status is because we have some planning to do... airline tickets, hotel, etc.
They have not posted the dates yet on the Warsaw page for June... but I have this strong sensation that it will be in late June as we requested to the Embassy on a phone call after they received our fax.
I am super impressed how the US Embassy in Warsaw has treated us. They are SUPER nice to us so far. Both my Fiancee and I have called and they have been nice and helpfullll to the two of us. Guess I just have to wait for the memorial day weekend to end to find out anything!

Hello!
"Ski" already set her medical appointment at the embassy certified doctor in Kiev this Friday, before she has her packet 3 or 4. I thought she needed authorization and an embassy form contained in packet 4. This would be carried to the Doctor's office to be filled out after her exam.

I scheduled "Ski's" interview for July 3. In the past, I've heard petitioners must purchase the beneficiary a round-trip open ended airline ticket home. This is to remove the government's liability to return the beneficiary home if marriage does not occur in 90 days. Is this true?

Thanks Sarah, we're keeping our fingers crossed that everything in packet3 and packet4 will be available when really really needed. Last Friday she made her medical appointment for tomorrow morning based on a call from the Kyiv embassy with her NVC number.

I called this morning after I sent them an email requesting status, let them know we have everything we need (which we do) they scheduled her for a July 16th interview, wonder why such a disparity between July 3 and July 16?
Did not realize you had to call the Medical place for a reservation, will have Anna do that in the morning.

I agree it's peculiar three days between scheduling calls caused almost two weeks between the interviews. Yeah, no packet three here either. We haven't received anything in writing from USCIS or NVC since NOA1 the first week of February. The 25th "Ski" got an email from the embassy with her KEV number.
She immediately called the approved medical center and set up the appointment. She had the appointment today, said it was long but effortless. They took x-rays, blood, and reviewed her records. The center gave her the results the end of the day.
I got our KEV number just by chance by calling NVC the 25th. They also informed me our 129f was approved the 10th! LOL!
I told the interview scheduler at
888-889-3780 we have completed everything on the KEV-1 check list. He said good, and offered to set up an appointment. I said the earliest possible, please. It's set for the third of July!
