Full Version: Would you find it hard to leave VJ if you got a divorce/broke up?

I'm not in this situation, but I was thinking that I'm kinda VJ-addicted and would have a hard time giving it up even if my relationship didn't work out... I also noticed some members whose relationships have ended posting.
Happy Bunny
I'd leave.
moody
I'd leave. No reason to stick around.
Eresh
I would leave b/c I wouldn't have a reason to come here anymore.
Yardiewife
I wouldn't post as much but I wouldn't leave all together. I have made great friends with a group in the regional forums and they will always be my friends regardless of my relationship.

Plus what else is there to do to waste time at work? tongue.gif
charles!
i'd leave. *waits for flurry of pm's to nessa demanding we get divorced* tongue.gif

I'd stay just for you, Alex. tongue.gif

I would stay because only us VJ'ers know how difficult the visa process is, all the stress, emotions, and feelings of hopelessness. It may even help to continue the story to help others learn or to know what to watch out for.
Cassie
I'd say goodbye to the people I would want to say goodbye to, and then let VJ go.
JenT
I'd leave... the reminder would be too painful....

Exactly. And how can one move on if you're always going to be talking about the process/pitfalls/answering questions about how you're doing/etc.

That's true. On the other hand the support you'd get here might be nice because you could get some of the horrible feelings out without spending too much time whining to your real-life friends and feeling like a burden to them... here if someone doesn't want to help you feel better they can just not open your thread.

good.gif So true.

Also if you are anywhere in the process past the initial visa (married/already in the country) there is quite a lot of information you need when separating/divorcing.

I'd leave.

You have chosen to ignore all posts from: babybunny.

Wouldn't that be the day.

I voted that I would leave, but after reading all of the other posts I do realize that it might be carthartic to pour out my feelings on VJ. I think I'd probably take a break because VJ would be a constant reminder of all we went through.

I think I'd stay. I am not really into these things, and prefer talk to lawyers when I need advice on some immigration issue, but people here share their opinions and life stories so it's great for me as a writer! And topics are sometimes very controversial so it's interesting to read and gives good "food for thought"

I'd leave. The friends I've made here I have other ways to communicate, no reason to stick around, I'd have no business here.

Are you here for "business"? ohmy.gif
MissStacey
I think I would stick around. It would hard to quit cold turkey.

I tried to get my husband here, he logged on one night when I asked him too and he hasn't been back.
Thats's fine.

VJ has been my sanctuary. I enjoy it here.
sereia
i'd probably stay in the divorce forum then go. as much as i like vj, it would be painful and i wouldn't want reminders of it. i'd want to move on and better my life somehow! if i've made any great friends, we wouldn't need vj to keep in touch!.
jessNgeorges
id stay.......

see we dont actually 'have' a visa process because of our circumstances and even tho we have come to know that ive stuck around. i love the mena forum, even with all the fighting...i pretty much stick in there but id poke around other areas too........
