I posted this in K3 forum too but figured I'd post it to the South Asia forum too to get opinions.
Hi,
We're preparing things for hubby to submit to the VFS office and I'm just wondering if others submitted their evidence of relationship with their things to the VFS office prior to interview or waited until the time of interview to take the evidence with them?Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

MrsAyilliath,
My wife has her interview next Thursday, and she went to VFS to submit the documets on Monday. She took all the required documents including all the relationship evidence with her.
At the VFS, they only took a handful of e-mails, and told her to bring the rest (Telephone records, Cards, E-mails, Pictures) to the interview itself.
I suggest taking everything to VFS, and they'll decide what they'll take and what you'll need to bring with you.
Good luck!

We went through Delhi and my husband brought the proof of relationship (our wedding pictures, letters, phone records) with him to the interview. But then again, in Delhi you don't have to submit your paperwork beforehand.

dear
In delhi VFS when you go to submit your papers along with others if u have not submitted the proof of relationship earlier while submitting packet3 then they would ask you to submit any one of the proofs(weeding pics, telephone records, e-mails or cards). If u submit wedding pics then u can take along rest with u to the interview. the CO may or may not ask for other things.
But my suggestion is take everything u have the more the better. Rest is just luck whether they ask for it or no. do take ur album because that's what they asked me to show (as i had already submitted some of my wedding pics even then they saw the pisc). Rest don't worry about the interview it is a smooth process if all the paperwork is order. just dont be hesitant of carrying everything u have to proove ur relationshi and genuiness of ur case.
Everything would be fine. sleep well eat well and dont stress out yourself too much.
all the best and god bless

We did the K1 and we submitted everything we had at the VFS office 15 days before the interview. I was expecting them to pick and choose what they wanted, but they took everything (emails, the same 6 photos we submitted before, phone records, 6 months of my pay stubs and bank statements, as well as all the required applications, even DS-230 pt 1 & 2, etc.).
Agreed with the others: just take EVERYTHING you have and they will let you know at the VFS office what they want and what you need to take to the interview.

we did dcf in new delhi and when we submitted packet 3 we submitted all the originals as well as the xerox copies. but i am not sure as your husband filed from us woud u need to do a packet 3 submission at vfs or not , or the origianal documents can be submitted while submitting packet 4 so when u get ur visa interview date u have to do that not earlier than 15 days and not less than 10 working days at he nearest VFS office so dont worry u'll recieve all the instructions along with ur packet four
study hard and stop worrying

Just a quick update for everyone-Hubby submitted the documents at the VFS and they wanted not only photo copies but the originals of documents as well including my divorce decree. I had sent a notarized copy of the decree but apparently that wasn't enough because they told him they wanted the original too. I went directly to the courts and they gave me a certified court copy of the same thing already submitted. So I will be taking that with me when I fly back to Delhi for hubby's interview.
Beyond that, everything else was submitted including a job letter, my taxes for last year, evidence of relationship, a few pics, emails between us, phone records (which probably made their eyes pop out of their head), the I-34, a copy of bank statements showing child support deposits, a notarized letter from my ex husband stating the amount he pays and when, copies of flight itineraries where I go every other month, my passport showing the entry and exit stamps blah blah blah. I tried to send everything I thought they may need. My fear was that if we didn't submit these things to the VFS before hand for the Consulate to review, that it could hold up our visa process.
Hubby said the VFS in Delhi handles documents for several different countries including Japan, Britain, and Canada. Other than the person submitting the documents, no one else is allowed inside and cell phones etc have to be turned in.
I hope this helps answer anyone else who may have a question about the VFS.
