Just curious who uses the internet during work hours and if your boss is cool with that. I'm more project oriented so it's not really a big deal, though it would be if I weren't getting my jobs done in a timely fashion.

I sit in a room and watch people taking tests hours on end, I NEED the internet! lol

I am at work now...... boss has no issues with us using the internet as long as we get our work done in a timely fasion...

I do use it for work emails. Also if there is something i want to look up. Cant access VJ from work or quite a few other sites.

I have to use it. I work as a research assistant and there are so many things we need to look up and verify and stuff so we do have access besides work e-mails and the like. There are some websites that are completely blocked (ie social networking sites like facebook) but thank goodness VJ was not blocked...I found it while surfing the net at work

Sometimes I would use it to check news articles etc,but it was still relevant( sort of) to my job at the time. But just full-fledged surfing?? No.

I try to stay as profesional as possible at work, and given my recent jobs being outside I havent been able to even if I want to, but even if I could I wouldn't.

Seeing how some people on here post a HUGE amount I have no idea how they get their work done AND surf VJ/internet. When I worked I simply didn't have the time to post anything. There was of course the issue that if you're surfing you are clearly NOT working, yet getting paid. Seems a bit cheeky to me.

No, we don't have the Net at work. I would use it if we had it.

Of course I surf the net at my work. I live on the ocean for a week while working my shift on a petroleum production facility. Most of my VJ posts are done while at work (like now).

I don't have much time to play on the net at home. My wife makes sure of that!

Not at the moment. I will in the future, I just started working and I still dont have computer clearance. I know when I have access the army has blocked a bunch of sites, but I'm sure I'll be able to come to VJ.

I am here at work 10 hours a night with three CRT's in front of me. One is on the internet and the other two are on work related sites. I am at work right now and this is the time I follow VJ mostly.

I'm guilty of surfing the net at work.

Yes I use the internet...there are so many good educational sites that I can download worksheets and information. My boss (the principal) is aware and actually encourages us to use the Internet for such purposes. For other purposes...I don't have the time...I have kids to work with.

Using the internet is a large part of my job (really!), so yeah, I am on here at work sometimes too.

PLus with my husband oversea's.. It is good to talk to him in the day.. Cause by the time I can log in when I get home... It is Very late over there - 7 hour time distance !!!!!!!!!

My last job I was on VJ & other sites for hours during the day cuz there wasn't enough work in the office. However now I don't have computer access and am mostly busy on my feet during the day so... I love keeping busy but I miss VJ during the busy week!

I work at home so it's hard not to. The computer is provided by the company and we're only supposed to use the internet on it for work-related purposes.... I have my own computer but sometimes I look something up on the work computer...check my bank balance, answer son's homework question, bla bla bla... if I do it too much it reduces my income though... (production pay).

As a matter of fact, I'm supposed to be working right now!

I am on the computer all day at work, the internet is a lifesaver for me when times get slow.
