We all know ken does hardwork for all of us, I hope he continues for those in limbo. If kengumbo is approved I think I was sent before him. The point of this thread is if we get approved we say so, so we can judge NOA2 and embassy.
kengumbo
I was approved and I am right here with youz guys! Thanks for your thoughts! Somehow, this has to be easier than CSC! This group is growing nicely.

Update............ I called NVC today and lady said I am not in the system she looked me up by my CSC receipt #. This may take longer than we think folks. I am buckling my seatbelt for a bumpy ride, and I am putting my tray table and chair in the upright position. sad.gif

Our case left to Jakarta yesterday 5-22. If we are lucky we might hear something on Friday.

Sooo, I'm slow and forgot to post my NVC tail here smile.gif Got approved on the 3rd (no e-mail etc!) called USCIS on the 17th (a thursday) and found out about the approval. Called NVC that night and was told it had just arrived there. Called back the following monday and was told my case had come in the 16th (Wed.) and left the 18th (Fri). I got outta there quick! Now just waiting for packet 3, the interview, my sexy bean and then our wedding!!! Hehe, I'm getting excited, can you tell?

Now come on everyone else waiting there! I hope you all get a nice 2 day layover on the packets trip to the embassy.

Has anybody that was approved late last week 17th or 18th, made it to NVC yet? I called them late last night, and my case is still not in their database, so I'm just curious if anyone else has had luck. I think there were a couple of us w/ NOA2 late last week. I know I'm being inpatient...I can't help it. blush.gif
If NVC is turning these things around in a couple of days, that sounds good to me! I just hope my petition makes it to NVC soon! smile.gif

But wouldn't your jail 'visits' have been something that was checked out during the USCIS adjudication stage....and if you were approved, it should not now, be the cause now for delay, right? Maybe I'm just confused as to what exactly occurs during the NVC stage of things. unsure.gif

Okay i just found this forum, yeah i'm a little slow i know....called uscis on may 17th and they told me we were approved on may 7th.....NVC received our packet on 5/21 and it was sent to london on 5/23. Two day turnaround is great! Anywho...we haven't gotten an email yet or anything in snail mail. How long is it taking everyone's paperwork to make it to their embassies?

Ours took 10 days to get to the NVC from the approval day. I hope yours won't take that long. Keep calling the NVC. Not to making it faster, but to make sure if your case arrive safely there.

i got an email from NVC last night ..... they've recieved our petition...

****

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The approved 129F petition filed for a fiancé of a US citizen has been received at the National Visa Center it will be processed in approximately 2-4 weeks and forwarded to the appropriate US Consulate General. The Consulate General may or
may not request additional information before interviewing the applicant for a K1 nonimmigrant visa.

****

such formal little bugs arent they?
now i need my honey to send me all his additional stuff.........just incase they ask for it..
does the NVC ask the petitioner for more info before sending it all off to the consulate?

So with exception to the embassy sending out packet 3, how do we know that the embassy receives the documents from the NVC?
sharyna
theres a thought...
i dont know..
i wish they had a system for what its worth like the USCIS....

be nice....

i suppose this is where you sit and wait....and are totally dependant on the waiting game....
msu17
Or contact the embassy and bug them smile.gif I'm waiting though, cause I'm lazy hehe!
Dan + Gemvita
It should take about a 3-5 business days to reach the consulates. Some people here should be hearing from the consulate soon. If were lucky we will get something on Friday, But i think Monday is more likely.
sharyna
yeah i'm waiting...
trying to do one zillion other things while i do...

its just funny now because the USCIS website still has my case pending lol....

well lets hope that NVC send it all to the consulate asap..

Yeah, or you can call 202-663-1225 with your case number and they will tell you if the embassy received it...just call Monday through Friday and wait until you are prompted to speak with an operator.
natronic
I am not calling them today. I have a 5 day weekend. I will call them thursday and I will just enjoy my weekend before I get stressed and upset about people being approved at CSC after me but getting to embassy before me. I hope CSC didn't lose my paperwork after they approved it. Only time will tell. ClockWatch2.gif

I called NVC again today, they don't have my case yet. sad.gif The lady I spoke w/ was actually very nice, she asked me when my approval date was. When I told her "last thursday, the 17th" she said "That's cute...that it had only been a week and I was calling." I told her that after the long USCIS wait, I was anxious. blush.gif She said she understood, and suggested I try back next week, because it takes about 2 weeks for the case to reach them. She did say that K-1 petitions do not stay w/ NVC very long, before they are forwarded on to the embassy.
So nothing left to do, but wait out the long weekend.

Still no hard copy NOA2, or change in status online. mad.gif What is going on? All these people approved yet many are not approvals online, or the paper NOA2's. huh.gif

Hmm, so we are supposed to get a paper mail from NVC when it has been forwarded to the embassy?

I'm busy worrying about my fiancee's medical interview, police certificates, and the timing of the interview now, does anyone know the general way that works? Should another 2-3 months before the interview be expected? If it were only 2, it would be a problem, since she has some other things booked in mid july.

If you go read the guides there is a general timeline, notice the little guy at the top of everything with the sign that says Please read the GUIDES????? Also if she has things more pressing to get to you as quickly as possible, what's up with that?
Going to police to request a report only takes a day, may take longer to get the report. The medical interview will take up another day, and she can go at her leisure. I do not see a problem, and you should not either.

The timeline that says 1 month between sending the information and issuing the intervew, when most timelines I have seen on the site have a couple months before the interview? The guide has very little information about the process once it leaves the US and gets to the embassy, and the timeline has little specific information, just basically says the "embassy will send information and forms to fill out."

Not if the police reports are from two separate foreign countries and may or may not be considered "unobtainable."

Not when the medical interview is halfway across the country...

QUOTE(natronic @ May 25 2007, 07:03 PM) *
Also if she has things more pressing to get to you as quickly as possible, what's up with that?

An examination vital to her employment when she arrives here, that also will take place halfway across the country, that also must be booked months in advance...if the exam doesn't get done, her career gets delayed an entire year; and since my career needs to be planned to accommodate hers location-wise...we've got things to coordinate. We've got more things brewing than just waiting for the visa for her to immediately come to the US.

Seriously, things always seemed friendly on this forum, where did that salty response come from???

I apologize.......my girl lives in the capital city so for her it is easier. I was insensitive to your plight. I would have her make sacrifices there to get done what she needs for her future. I am guessing she is a doctor or nurse of some sort. again I apologize I forget not everyone is living in a capital city like my fiancee. You have made sacrifices, if it is family functions remind her she has to make sacrifices also. The situation we are all in is not perfect, we try to make it work to the best of our ability. If her engagements are something she can not break away from then you have to accept that, love her, and wait longer. I think they will take the police reports from the current country unless you listed both countries on a form. If that is the case she can probably obtain them by email or phone. I would look into that.

It's all good...

The timing of things is interesting, basically we are aiming for her to come here in October, so we have a few months to play with. If things go quickly at the embassy, and she gets an mid July date that won't work, can she request a later date? You'd think a later date would be an odd request, but an easily fulfilled request. Hopefully she gets packet 3 soon and we can figure things out.

There is absolutely no hyme or reason to this madness! wacko.gif There's another thread I was just reading, and people who received NOA2's in early May still do not have their paper copies, yet for most their petition is already at the respective consulate (some have even received packet 3).
I've even seen that some are getting the e-mail notification that their case was approved, after those of us that were approved during the middle of May....just unbelievable!

I wish we could find out how these darn things are processed, and how is it that some mail is being sent out and some not. At this point I have to say its not the US mail that is inefficient...an envelope is pretty much delivered in about 4-5 days anywhere in the continental US, once it is actually mailed....so the problem definitely lies w/ CSC. The H-1B visa backlog excuse is no longer making sense to me. dry.gif

I will post when and if I get the paper NOA2. We definitely need those things for AOS, so I hope all of us that are waiting will get them soon! smile.gif

Is your K1 being processed through the consulate in Chennai? I believe their procedure is indeed somewhat different than the others in that there is no separate Packet 3 and Packet 4. When the consulate mails out your Packet 3, it is also a Packet 4 in that you are notified of your interview date in that first mailing. (Or something like that....)
Here's the link to the procedures at the Chennai consulate. It was updated 4/30/07, so its recent.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...amp;cty=Chennai

There is a member on VJ, I believe "ELW" who can assist you. Her fiancee recently processed through Chennai. If you haven't contacted her, perhaps you can do that and she may be able to offer you more accurate information pertaining to that consulate....even perhaps offer advice on how to re-schedule an interview if necessary. smile.gif

Good luck!

I called USCIfriggingoodfornothingS yesterday and the lame I talked to said if I do not get the hard copy NOA-2 in 30 days, I am to call back and there is a possibility I will have to pay for them to issue me one !!!!!!!! In one thread I read someone was told they wanted 200 bucks for that NOA-2. Im outraged because we already paid for this with the 170.00 cheque. I would settle for an E Mail at this point.

P S ...after calling NVC and telling them what CSC did to a few of us, I was given this # 1 202 5144316. The woman at NVC said do not bother with the 1 800 # at USCIS, that this # is HEADQUARTERS. Well, I tried, but all I got was rings, but no one answering the phone. Maybe someone can make headway.
