Hi all,
I’m a permanent resident (green card holder) and filed for my son, who is over 21. He was called for an interview and requested more evidence for father-son relation ship. We gave them the DNA test results and it is about three long months.
I was told that when the US consulate conduct interview and rest of the administrative processing, I have to be here, in United States. Also, I have to be here when my son comes to US first time after getting the Visa.
I have a daughter who is not well and she is back home. I really have to go back to my country to take care of her. But, getting a visa (life) for my son is equally important.
What do I do? Is the requirement that I have to be here true? Do I have to be here when he comes to US? Please help….
Thank you,
John

That is what I am hearing from other people, their experience. I am wondering if anyone else faced the situation?

Think it through. Is it logical, how would they know.

Sure, they would know about it, It is on their system and they are connected each other. It is not the old INS.

As you are not inclined to disclose your source, not a lot of point going further.
US Gov does not have records of all its citizens abroad.
