hi all --- i finally received my confirmatory letter from the NVC saying our petition was shipped out on May 7th (oh happy day!!!!) HOWEVER -- my middle name on the letter was spelled incorrectly. All of our paperwork and receipts have been correct -- only the letter with the bar code. I did call the NVC and was told the petition was already out of the building and they could not do anything. I asked if my name was showing in the NVC computer system this way and she said yes but there was nothing that could be done as they only ship it out.... so I thought hmmm I am going to call the DOS to ask and the lady there said it was only a typo in this letter only and if the beneficiarys name and case numbers were correct not to worry ... well the more i think about it the more i am worried as my case is going to casablanca...i think that's all i need to say about casa...

Does anyone have any advice or has anyone heard of this -- and if so did it cause a problem??

Thanks- Malarie

I didn't have such an experience but I would say NOT to worry about it. Your first & last name are correct and that is what is important! Probably the Consulate will put your info into the system based on your original I-129F application (sent to the Consulate by the NVC) and not by the one letter sent by the NVC to you. Your fiancé can put the correct spelling of your middle name on the forms he fills out there, all should be OK.

I will say that when I changed my address (before I got the NOA2), the change of address letter came from the USCIS with my fiancé’s last name spelled wrong, but I let it go and I saw later that on all other paperwork throughout the process, it was spelled correctly.
