I have filed my I-30 here in California but someone told me today that i could have done it in india(where i got married) and could have saved few months. however, i was under the impression that after the Adam Walsh act direct filing was not allowed. please shed some light. thanks.

DCF is allowed again but requires the petitioner to reside in that country for a certain period of time.(some countries 6 months, others more). good.gif

neel06,
I tried DCF from Delhi but it was refused because the embassy has a requirement that the USC should have resided in India for 90 days to be able to apply from Delhi embassy (which I didn't). From what I hear, they were planning to increase the residency requirements to 180 days.
