Hello, my fiancee is Japanese and I am an American citizen. She is in Japan now and I am in the United States. I've been trying to research the best way of going about getting married and getting permanent resident status in the US for her. It seems as though getting married in Japan and doing a DCF is still the best and quickest way, however I've read that I am not eligible because I need to live in Japan for 6 months before being able to file the I-130 in Japan. Is this correct? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Yes, it is correct. In order to start DCF you need to reside in that country for a certain period. For every country is a different minimum months residency.

That's right - it's a minimum of six months now. Unless you would enjoy living in Japan for a while and find it valuable, in my opinion, you would do best to file the I-129f as soon as possible.
