My fiance had his interview today and I got a call from him about an hour ago saying he was approved and now just has to wait to pick up the visa later today in the afternoon. We are so excited and happy, words do not even begin to describe it. This means that hopefully within another month he will be here, after the carta blanca process and booking a flight. Thank you all for the support and many answers to questions. God bless you all at whatever stage of the journey you are on.

So as things would go... he won't actually get all his paperwork and visa until Monday due to a broken machine or something like that. But who is complaining? Not I. He ended up waiting about an hour to actually get inside the interest section office and then from 8-12:30 to actually be called into the interview. He was one of the last ones, like 41 or 50 he said. The guy who did the interview really did not ask him much at all not even my name or address or anything like that. I think the questions were:

1. How and when did we meet?
2. Did I have any visits at my house this past year? (We had two exchange students here last year... so real bizare question that maybe they knew about or some freaky coinsidence)?

Then he was approved. He said they looked over all that he brought, but was approved quickly. After that the guy asked him where we would live and if we were from the same church... but that was it. Michael did say that the other people got asked tons of questions however and some people actually got their visas today, but after waiting again for an hour and a half the people waiting were told to come back another day and given an open pass to get back in. And that was that.

He will go back on Monday to hopefully find everything ready and then be able to start the carta blanca process. Once he gets that then he will buy the ticket to Miami and I will have to get a ticket from Miami to Denver. So we are hopeful that within a month he is here!!!

This is awesome news! Congratulations to you both. I prayed for you two the night before your interview for success. I know that you will have a wonderful life once you are together. Best wishes in all of your next steps and keep us informed of your progress. I think you have set a record in this forum for the fastest approval from Cuba. Let's pray that our Carta Blanca steps are quicker. smile.gif

Thanks so much for the prayers. It has been a great support having people as yourself to ask for advice or just to share experiences. The Lord is marvelous for sure. I take it you are still in the carta blanca process? Do you have any idea how much longer that might be? I can imagine that must be hard to be so close yet still not able to be together. That is how I feel but remain hopeful and patient because soon he will be here. I a praying for you and the carta blance process... speed this process up for sure. Take care and again thanks!!!

Once again I want to thank you all for your words of support and congratulations, not only now but through the entire process. Hopefully Michael can get his visa and brown envelop tomorrow and start the next process of getting the carta blanca. God bless you all!!!

Just got word that my fiance was able to pick up his passport with visa in it and the brown envelop. He tried to start the carta blanca process, but was told to come back tomorrow at 8AM, when they attend carta blanca people. The woman said all his papers looked good though... hopefully real soon he will get that and then a flight here!!!
