As I asked, do we get both steve and Ewok in the chat?

No matter what is going on here today, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for having the insight of starting this web site. Your vision has made it possible to have the woman of my dreams here by my side. I can't imagine attempting what we have done in the past two years without this site. vj sheesh... my opinion, as someone who has been here awhile, this situation could have been ahndled differnetly and not exploded into a situation, where a good person, lorelle, and the ewok, good person, did not have to have it end this way...a sad state of affairs..

This is what happens when everything is a secret. Some people here seem to have a natural trust for "authority". Things have been swept under the rug so many times here, I'm having an extremely hard time giving the benefit of the doubt.

Aussiewench has never done anything that would make me doubt her.

Are those not true? All I ever said was we should calm down and let Ewok have the time to explain and then I was jumped on with personal attacks. There is no need for those, is there?

From what I can tell both sides have been honest however there seems to have been very little direct communication so both people have reached different perspectives of the same issue (two sides to a coin). My guess is that they both have done what they thought was right given their perspective. If I can do anything here today it will be to unify both perspectives and open dialogs. My guess is that both sides will suddenly see things more similar once they can converse about the details and how things were likely interpreted differently.

I am not picking sides at the moment. Just reading and seeing what's going on. I didn't even know Aussie had made a website. A lot of this is news to me, but I am sort of indifferent to it all maybe. At the moment I just want to read and see what happens and not have an opinion.

Back when I posted more I would in this case just want to remind you both that we are all friends here that are chatting over what is an issue with many sides. We all mean well with the things we say and personal attacks are silly. From time to tmie I jab my brother when I disagree but in the end we still love each other... just like on here we all share a common experience and friendship and we should always remember that in the end, we are a small group in the world that was brought together by the US immigration process. That makes us a community and hopefully friends by default. Maybe I am just an optimist but I think that is the case .

I do have some insight I can share that my help answer some questions. Did anyone want to ping me? I have 30 more minutes or so I can be online. I will be back later as well when I can too.

Essentially - we feel Lorelle deserved better than she got, regardless of the situation.

Well, I read the chat transcript. Nothing new was learned.

Ewok and steve weren't in the chat at the same time. Aussiewench's ID was not unlocked as promised so she wasn't able to join and defend herself or explain anything.

I think I've seen enough to make up my mind.

I was at the chat when Steve was there. He had to leave the chat as he's at work and they needed him to get something done.

Ewok probably has not gotten home yet.

I hope that when Ewok and Steve are finally able to get back into chat they will restore Aussie's account so that she too can get into chat with them.

I am sure this will be the case... Ewok said he just temporarily closed her account ...

I think some people have made up their minds already and no matter what is said or done it isn't going to change their minds...

And further, why was her account disguised to appear as if she had privileges here that she did not? Specifically, no PM access, and a NEW and separate group created for her and her alone that reads 'Organizer' (which she once was) but which gives no Organizing power to (which she had previously had)?

That looks very much to me like CYA on the VJ side, and pulling the wool over the eyes of everyone else here. I don't like being lied at.

But seriously - if it had been proven that Lorelle truly spammed VJ (as in hundreds of PMs or posts), then I would have to seriously question her about that. If you think that I'm not capable of being that level headed, then I guess you don't know me that well.

wow. sad situation. let hope that with some time and effort from the different parties that things will be patched up.

Yep, here I was thinking that she had extra features on her account beyond that of the regular organizer, since she was in a category all her own. Little did I know.

I think we should all actually keep this thread on track. Although it is understood that many here are appreciative of Steve's good work with starting this site, it should be remembered that this isn't the actual point of this thread.

This thread was started to discuss Aussie, not as a "Congratulate Steve" thread.

I don't think it was all about spamming... I think there was a big miscommunication on both sides...

You're right, it wasn't all about spamming. Frankly I think the other part it was about is a load of waffle. Ewok was asked by email to point out which parts were lifted from VJ and never responded back. Which means either he didn't get the email, he didn't have the proof of what he was accusing her of, or he'd just rather ban her and be done with it.

So then it was agreed to reinstate Aussiewench's account and see if the two sides could come to some agreement on chat. In the meantime, Steve miraculously shows up and knows about this whole thing. Steve and Ewok can't happen to both make it to the chat. If Ewok could not be there for the chat he proposed, why not postpone it until he could be there too (and once he had reinstated Aussie's account)?

I'm starting to feel a sense of the Clark Kent/Superman disease going on here. You never see the two of them together at the same time. Kind of insults the intelligence just a bit.

The reason is because the way the IPB Admin Control Panel works. There is a box that disables certain features and the way it is programmed it leaves no indications on the board. I have always replied to anyone who asked what was up. I wish people would just PM me in the future. I am on open book... just ask and do not assume I am trying to do anything bad. I really do care.

I never got an email back. If they sent it to an email that was not one of ours it is blackholed and deleted automatically (spam prevention). We do not have a catch all email addy.

I hope this is all a huge misunderstanding, 'cus I've always seen Aussie and Cap being helpful and honest, and when Aussie first said she'd stop posting I always believed it was due to some members and some drama, which has always been the case of VJ (and all boards I go to actually) and will always be present. I saw what Aussie had to say and believed her, but now I read what Cap says and it also makes sense, although I think the decision to ban her without actually getting the facts first was precipitated.

he has said it was just a temporary ban and he has unbanned her already...
