I'm here because I'm still going through my process, just started...I think I will be here occasionally when it's all over.
VJ is a fun place and I would still want to be around for the laughs.

I'm more or less done, having received my green card but still need to lift conditions next year. I've only recently come back to VJ, having been a lurker for quite a while. It's a distraction from work - sometimes too much of a distraction. And I'm surprised that, so far, no one claims to be here to help those still going thru their own journeys. I thought I was an exception, rather than the rule.

We have to file to lift Sujeet's conditions this summer, so the visa journey is not completely over yet.
But I stay around mostly to see what's going on with people and what's going on in OT. I can't seem to go more than a few days without checking in.

My wife and stepdaughter recently got their 10 year Green Cards, so we are more or less through with the visa journey. My wife will be eligible to file for US citizenship at the end of the year, but that is her project...not mine. Of course I will help her with paperwork or whatever, but she really doesn't need me to become a US citizen at this point.
That said, I'll continue to drop in to VJ when I can. Mostly when I'm at work offshore on the Gulf of Mexico. There's not much entertainment out here on the sea, but we do have internet.

Journey not over...not by a long shot. Still in the "AOS Pending" status at the moment. I seriously doubt I'll ever leave permanently...I've made some friends here and I enjoy sparring on occasion too.

I'm in the thick of the process now but I think once he gets here and we get the aos stuff figured out I'll just pop in once a month or so to answer questions related to Egypt since it really sucks to go through there and I know it helped me a LOT to have others who have been through that embassy.

It probably isn't someone sticking their nose into your inbox, more than likely a keyword or phrase that is highlighted on the database. When that word is used, whether it be in PMs or on the board, it is deleted.
A pal of mine did something similar for April Fool's on her board. Whenever anyone had typed a certain key word she made the board exchange it for "oops sorry, I farted".

Right - that makes sense if there is a valid reason for the keyword or phrase to be highlighted.
In this case, there was definitely no valid reason whatsoever. And personally I'm not too hot on a board that thinks it's ok to censor valid, immigration related information that I provide to another member in a PM.

I try to keep up with any information on removing conditions but also enjoy reading the posts and, when possible, helping others with this stressful journey. I figure when Claudeth gets her 10 year card I will most likely fade away.

I noticed something funky with my sig lately. I had links posted that got re-spelled and ended up linking to a totally different web site.
It makes no sense. It's not like I was linking to an inappropriate web site, and not all the links were re-spelled either.
Why censor immigration related links or information passed between members via PM or listed in their sig? This is an immigration forum is it not? What is so wrong with actually sharing information that could help others in the immigration process we are going through...this is the main reason we are here isn't it?

Could be, Marilyn, but we were not allowed the chance to discuss it any further there as the thread was promptly closed.
The only time I've ever seen VJ spammed is when a particular member got angry with our new subforum and replied to every thread possible within a 5 minute period. That member has no affiliation with any other site, to my knowledge.

Clearly it does - but I guess the question at hand relates to the claim that another site "spammed" VJ. Since it's highly unlikely that any other legit site would go to the trouble to "spam" VJ, I just don't buy it. And even if it was true, how does that make it ok to forcibly remove a link in a PM?
