Another Delhi interview has finally been scheduled. Hubby and I found out yesterday that his interview is scheduled for June 11. Needless to say we are quite excited and nervous given that New Delhi is so unpredictable. I'm staying in prayer and believing and praying for a quick positive outcome.
Does anyone know if spouses are allowed at the interview in Delhi? Sometimes I get a yes and sometimes a no from the Help Desk at the Embassy. Good luck to everyone else on their journey. May we all been reunited with our loves soon.
Congrats on the interview date and good luck to both of you for a successful interview! Hopefully someone can answer correctly whether spouses are allowed into the interview in Delhi.

I had my interview on april20th what i saw is a couple there. the wife was scheduled for the interview and her husband had come along inside the embassy (as american citizens can go inside the embassy by just showing their passport) but when she was called for the interview her husband was asked to wait in the waiting area. so i feel spouse can accompany u but not attend the interview.
ALL THE VERY BEST FOR U BOTH

Thanks everyone!! Timeline is now updated. Love, thanks for letting me know that I can at least be by his side at the embassy. He's already a bundle of nerves. Does anyone know how long it normally takes to get the visa once approved? Thanks

You may want to check with the Embassy's website to make sure this is still what they do, but when Suj's visa was approved they took his passport and he received his passport with visa in it just a couple days later by courier.

OH Boy,
It took you almost 4 months after receiving the approval. My wife will also be going thru New Delhi. I was hoping that it will take 2 or 2
1/2 months. Lets see what happens.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

I'm confused. You mean the I129-F approval?
Because his visa was approved the same day as the interview.

I think he is saying it took approx 4 months from when NVC received the application and assigned a case # to when they got the interview.
Sandip's application just got to the NVC recently.

I can't say this is definitely how it's done anymore, but back when our interview was scheduled, the New Delhi Embassy followed this procedure:
When they sent packet 3, if the signed documents were sent back to the Embassy before the 10th of that particular month, the interview was scheduled for the next month. If it was sent back after the 10th, it was schedule for the month after(2 mo's or so later).
Like in our timeline:
Sent back Packet 3 on May 20(He got it May 19 so we had no chance for the next month's interview dates)
Interview was for July 22. So 2 months after sending in the packet 3.
But we couldn't help it that he didn't get packet 3 til after the 10th of May.
If those who went through or got their interview dates already could chime in maybe, did they do this when assigning your interview date? I wonder if they still do it this way.

*I just looked at MrsAyilliath's(sp?) timeline and it doesn't really follow that procedure, so they probably don't do that anymore.

We expected the same thing based on what the representative told us on the phone. We were told that they would schedule the interview on the first or second week in the month following when the paperwork was submitted. However, as you can see that was not followed. I was, however, told that they would try to get him in for an interview when I went to see him the last two weeks of April IF packet four was delivered...but as fate would have it, they delivered it two days after I left. So here we are with a June 11 interview date...just patiently waiting.
Good luck to everyone.
