I'm planning to use James' shortcuts which I see is based on generating bar codes based on my NVC case number. I'm expecting to take a vacation with my wife prior to getting my I-130 NOA2 and was hoping to have her sign all of the required documents at this time. So my question is, are the NVC case numbers similiar at all to the ones used by USCIS (like maybe just the first 3 letters change) so that I can generate these bar codes even prior to getting the I-130 NOA2? Or am I forced to wait until the NVC actually gets my case before I can generate the documents for her to sign?

Thanks!

Actually, now that I look at this, it seems probably I can just fill out the DS-230 part I and II online, print it, and have her sign just part I while we are on vacation. Then the other things I should be able to create once our I-130 actually goes to NVC. Is this correct or is there some generated document that she would need to sign?

You know...I knew this like 3 weeks ago but with so much new information coming in every day I guess it got shoved out! haha Thanks again for the affirmation!
It's Melvin
Actually, she is also supposed to sign the DS-3032 choice of agent form as well, but as aussiewench's first post in the pinned Time Savers thread indicates, a number of people have simply been emailing NVC their choice of agent. Still, you'll need the case number for either method -- probably best to bring along the DS-3032 for her to sign as well just in case.

Thanks! I will bring that just in case, but I will probably also try to do the email method as soon as I can find out my case number.
