Hello Dear VJ members,
I just had few questions .when the I-751 is APPROVED and the 10 year card is issued ,if it says category IF-1 or CR-1 or whatever else ,does that matter ?
And does this category thing have any impact later on Citizenship ,lets say the permanent resident applies for Citizenship after 5 yrs of Residency and he/She is not married to the U.S.Citizen anymore(after 751 is approved),will that have any impact on the person’s citizenship after 5 years.
Thanks-Kishore

Try 3 years married, and LPR, then you can naturalize.

Here are the rules:
QUOTE
Naturalization Requirements:
  • If you are at least 18 years old and:
Are currently married to and living with a U.S. citizen; and
Have been married to and living with that same U.S. citizen for the past 3 years; and Your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the past 3 years.
  • Permanent Residence (LPR): 3 years.
  • Continuous Residence: 3 years as a Permanent Resident without leaving the United States for trips of 6 months or longer.
  • Physical Presence in the United States: 18 months.
  • Time in USCIS District or State: 3 Months.
  • Good Moral Character: Required

  • Attachment to the Constitution: Required

The item in bold depends on the underlined, not meeting any of the underlined will reset the item in bold.

The card should not say CR-1 because CR-1 is a Conditional Resident Visa, and you are no longer conditional with the 10 year card.
