My wife just got back from the Tokyo embassy. They only asked one question at the interview: "So, you were here just 4 weeks ago to apply?" (that's when we went to submit the I-130)
He then said the visa will be put in her passport and it will be returned (by special mail delivery) by the end of the week.

Thanks everyone for you messages. I certainly wish all of you the best of luck as well. Even more so, I wish our beloved government would simplify the process for everyone. They need to put the immigration process under only one agency, either State or CIS, not both. And they could certainly digitize it all, i.e. submitting applications electronically over the net.
The Adam Walsh fiasco that so many of us went through was totally mis-handled by many parts of the gov't. And my case shows how messed up the process is: I got caught in that in the beginning, and started out by filing my petition with stateside CIS but then going DCF once it came back (see my timeline in my sig.).
In the end I'm really grateful to the staff at the Tokyo embassy. They were very nice and understanding of my and others' situation with the Adam Walsh thing. They worked very fast, and I've heard good reports from others who have also just recently processed through there.
Bravo Zulu, Tokyo embassy. I salute you.
