QUOTE(danielbro @ May 6 2007, 07:01 PM)

I have filed the I-130 and the I-129 for my wife and her daughter. Will the consulate require the I-864 Affidavit of Support or the I-134 Affidavit of Support. The I-134 requires a letter from my employer and the I-864 makes it optional. I don't want to ask my employer for the letter as he will think I owe him something if he does the letter. My wife will be coming from China if this helps.
My I-129 was last touched on 4/13/07. I hope to receive the NOA-2 approval this month
Thanks in advance for any help.
Dan
The best current information is that both your petitions are likely to be approved the same day. The I-130 will be retained at the service center and the K3 process will proceed. An employer letter is not required with either but is a good idea for either. You can show length of time on the job with W2's (assuming it IS a long term job) and current employment and pay level with current pay stubs.
You still have plenty of time to get well prepared.
I would suggest you check out www.candleforlove.com for more China specific support.
