due to a change of address problem, i only recently found out that our I-12F petition was approved back on 2/9/2007. (i wasn't expecting our petition to get approved so quickly.) to add to our problems, i was erroneously tracking the wrong receipt no. on USCIS's website. so, i never received the notice that my mail, which contained the approved petition, was returned to USCIS. my only saving grace was that the file i was erroneously tracking had a NOA, and of course i never received it so i called USCIS.
this is when i found out that our petition had been approved some time ago. our problem now is that the NVC never received our approved petition. i was told that the NVC should have received the approved petition within a week of its approval. as of 4/2007, NVC had no record of our approved petition. so i went back to USCIS and they ordered our file and resent the approved petition to the NVC. NVC received our approved petition on 5/3/2007.
here's where the plot thickens... in the meantime, my fiance in the Philippines was contacted by the Embassy in Manila on 4/30/2007. he was instructed to report to the Embassy the next day in order to pay for a processing fee and pick up a packet of information with forms to complete and instructions on where to get his medical exam. NVC tells me that he should not have been contacted because they still have the file. when i compare timelines similar to ours, it appears that the process for obtaining his K-1 visa is right on track. it looks as if he should have already been contacted my the Embassy in Manila by now.
NVC has requested information relating to the paperwork my fiance received in the Philippines. according to my fiance, there was no identifying information on the packet of information and forms given to him. he just paid his fee, took the packet and was instructed to come back with his completed forms, and medical exam documents.
does this sound right??? i am so confused. can some please HELP! thanks!
