I have read thru and am trying to prepare to follow James; shortcuts but I dont understand about having a coverletter for the I-864 package. What is it and what does it need to say on it? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks as always.

The coverletter is pretty much a "table of contents" which summerizes what documents have been submited in the package and where in the package it can be found.

It is not required, but it does help the folks at NVC when they are reviewing your documents.

I also looked at the shortcuts and followed the directions for creating the barcodes but the image of the barcode would not display in the popup window? Has anyone else tried this with or without success?

Cover letter is not required, but it is helpful. You just basically write what documents you are attaching with your letter and it should be addressed to NVC. You can also provide your contact information (Name, Address, phone no, email address, etc) so that they can contact you, if needed.
