we have so many social security questions, and honestly until i saw a bunch of ss threads moved i didnt even realize SS discussion is in the fine print on the EAD forum. Is it enough of an issue to add SS to the name of the forum?

thoughts?

Probably.

In a way, I don't even understand why this separate forum exists. I bet the traffic on it is light.

lal_brandow,

SS questions can generally be separated into 2 areas - work related and non-work related (do I need an SSN to get married, do I need a SSN to get a D/L, do I need a SSN to sign up for insurance,.....) I think the former belongs in the 'working and traveling before GC' forum for K-visa people, while for immigrant visa people and for the latter most often belong in the 'moving and your new life in the USA' forum.

My preference would be to not add 'SS' to the name of the 'working and traveling' forum. Posters with SS related questions should be posting to the appropriate forum based on the real reason they are asking their question - is the question about working prior to GC or is the question about some other aspect of their new life in the USA.

ur right Y. i DID move a SS question to the *moving here* forum due to it being posted by a CR1 holder. either way - they are being posted in the AOS forum with relative consistency.

hmmmm.
