After a week of waiting to hear back from the embassy we got an email yesterday.

Interview June 18th biggrin.gif

Got to be some kind of luck, that's my mom's birthday! haha..

They also said that if our NOA2 has expired I will need to send an updated letter of intent to marry - notarized? Anyone else heard that. I figured i'd send one anyways, but notarized?

Congrats! Wear light clothing; it gets really warm in the waiting area at the embassy if you're by the windows. We were there in September 2006 and we were sweating buckets. I wish I'd known about that before we went. protest6wz.gif

Congrats! Yours is 10 days after ours. smile.gif

And no, you don't need to have your letter of intent notarized. I left Chas one of those letters, but our NOA2 will still be valid when he has the interview (I believe its valid for 4 months).

Good luck!!!

Great news!! Good luck with the interview!

Yay, congrats on the interview date! And no, I wouldn't have thought there'd be any point in bothering to get the letter of intent notarized... it's not as though the original ones needed to be notarized, after all! smile.gif

Hmmm, by the time my fiance' had his interview, our NOA2 had already expired but they didn't seem to care. I sent my updated letter of intent to him but in his interview experience, the woman did not even look at it. His interviewer was focused on all the income/money related paperwork.

Still, I always say just do what they ask, hehe. I've not yet heard of an updated letter of intent having to be notarized, but maybe if they specifically asked for it, it's best to do that? I'd say perhaps if it's not too much trouble to just go ahead and have it notarized, it can't hurt. It just makes me wonder if they don't always check to see if NOA2's are expired, and if they do, they need a notarized updated letter of intent? I might be thinking of all this for nothing though!

These are just my thoughts smile.gif Congratulations and good luck!!!

Congrats and good luck! Our NOA2 had expired 3 weeks before Neil entered the US and we didn't do anything because the embassy hotline that sucks told us we didn't need to do anything. Well, Neil entered but with a bit of a hassle they took him into a room said it's just a "formality" and made him sit and wait like an hour while they talked about it to each other.

Thanks to everyone who replied, i'm sure it'll be fine smile.gif. We have a solid case - there's no reason why we shouldn't get approved smile.gif

Congratulations. My fiance sent an updated letter, but as far as I could tell, it was never looked at. Plus our NOA2 had not expired. I hope that you have as pleasant and professional an experience as I had! kicking.gif
