Have any of you traveled outside of the U.S. after coming in to the States with a K-3 Visa? My hubby just got his on 4/18 and we wanted to go to Mexico for the weekend but I am a little scared.

Not as a K3/K4. You will need Advance Parole to reenter the United States at any time after your status as K3/K4 has ended, but before obtaining Permanent Residency.

The K3 is a multiple entry visa but your husband will not be travelling on a US passport, so he'll need to comply with any Mexico entry requirements applicable to traveling on HIS passport.

Check Mexico requirements.

Okay well I think that I don't want to take the chance and maybe we should just wait until he receives his GC. wacko.gif

You aren't taking any chances as long as you comply with any requirements for his entry to Mexico.

He's Mexican, according to their profile, (I'm guessing, what with the Mexico flag an' all) so there's no problem at all with either of you travelling to Mexico. K3 is a mulitple entry visa, valid for 2 years. He can travel in and out of the US during that time, and will have no re-entry issues. Advanced Parole is not needed for a K3 holder. (K3 is completely different than K1 in that respect).

I went back and forth to Canada a couple of times with no problem whatsoever with just my K3.

If you decide to travel somewhere else other than Mexico or Canada, he may need a visa to enter *that* country, according to their laws regarding Mexico citizens, but still, coming back to the US will be no issue. There really is no need to wait to travel until he's got his green card. Go, have fun.

Thanks Reba. We had to file a waiver for him and someone mentioned that it was different cuz of that but everyone is telling me we should be okay and the Visa does say multiple entries and it expired in 2009.

Thanks everyone.

if he was given his K3 visa, the waiver shouldn't be an issue.
