My husband sent his passport to the London Embassy 15 days ago to get his visa- He still has not recieved it back
Anyone know what happens if they loose a British Citizens passport?
How long does the turnaround take when you send it through their courier service?
THanks

He 'sent' his visa to the embassy? What type of visa is he getting?

The turnaround time has varied here from person to person, but its *generally* pretty speedy (a few days).

I suggest contacting the embassy, either by phone or email, and making an inquiry.

He called the Embassy today after they made him wait 15 days, then they just gave him authorization to email them. Now he has to wait 5 days for them to reply to that. THis really sux. I havent seen my husband since the begining of January.

Unfortunately, when dealing with contacting the London Embassy this is what you have to expect. It's crap but you just have to suck it up and deal.

If you could give us a bit more information about his Visa we may be able to give you a better idea of what to expect. smile.gif

He just got his I-601 waiver of ineligibility approved. It was for an immigrant visa so that he can live here in Texas with me.\He calls the courrier people everyday to see if they have revieved it and he has verified that it has been recieved by the Embassy.

OKay, so he sent it to the Embassy via SMS?

If the Embassy have received it now it could take up to a month or so for them to send it back out. I wouldn't worry too much yet. It's a pain in the arse, but unfortunately when you have to send something in after the interview you get put at the bottom of the pile.

When I went for my K-1 visa, I got the blue slip and had to send the passport back via SMS, now for me it didn't take too long but it can take them awhile to issue, like mags said it can be up to a month. I found that with SMS they would confirm it was delivered but they wouldn't tell me it was back in their system unless I REALLY nagged laughing.gif
