BTW I did a forum search but nothing came back, probably didnt use right key words.

I know there are some good websites that cater to Russians abroad but was hoping if anyone knew of any Russian Markets in Chicago or Indianapolis?

Not sure what you meant by "russian market". Are you looking for Russian stores, food, etc?

There are a couple stores with Russian food around Niles, IL (if you are familiar with the area, they are near Golf/Milwaukee Ave). There is also a Polish store called Wally's, but it has Russian food, magazines etc. Wally's is in Chicago (Milwaukee & Belmont area).

There is a Russian/Polish store in Carmel Indiana. It is at 126th and Meridian in a strip mall on the West side of the road. I can't remember the name, but my dad and uncles shop there frequently. Our family is from Latvia and they have some things that remind them of home.

Interestingly, I discovered two Russian groceries in NC quite by chance in the past two weeks. Couple of weeks ago we were in Ashville, NC when I saw a "Euro Market" sign in a strip mall. Out of curiosity, we stopped by and found it to be a "Russian grocery" replete with Russian pickle, herring sausages etc.I learned from the shop owner that there were a lot of Ukrainians in the area and that they cater to that community.
Last week also, I saw a Euro market in Cary, NC which also turned out to be a Russian grocery.
So, try "Euro" or "European" market when you do an inernet search or look up in the yellow pages.
Good luck!

Good tip!

Another thing that might help is to search on a Russian website, like google.ru or even mail.ru and enter the U.S. zip code.
