Full Version: Can I send out packet 3 once the consulate receives it from NVC?

I think I pretty much spelled out my question in the title. I read in another forum that some consulates will allow you to send in packet three (before you actually receive it from them) once they have received your case from NVC, and that this will actually speed up the process in receiving packet 4. Does anyone have any insight on this? I tried to search around for the answer to this before posting, but was unable to find any answers. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jen

Andre visited the Jamaican embassy and dropped off our stuff before the embassy mailed out out packet.

I'm truly not sure what you'd gain by doing that. If you send them the forms before they have you in their system, then you'd be caught in the circle of the two trying to 'match up'.

London is pretty speedy anyway - I'd just wait for them to send it to you.

Incidentally, what the above poster wrote is NOT true for London. You can't just 'take' the forms to the embassy.

I just answered your same question in the Jan Filers thread! smile.gif

TracyTN's thinking was what I was referring to there. I would think, however, once you knew for sure that they'd posted packet 3, you could preemptively send back the forms - then they'd just cross in the mail. But that would be fine. The key is likely to just make sure they have your information all set up so they don't end up with stuff that doesn't match a thing and gets binned.

And yeah - I've seen a couple of people from different embassies/countries posting on specific questions like this one here and, while it's interesting, I kinda with they would disclaim or highlight the differences because embassies really can be very different in how they operate. I'd hate to see people get confused because they missed the different flag in the sidebar!

Not to mention, it just generates urban immigration myths, if that makes sense. People end up thinking they read something somewhere and then that turns into the God's Honest Truth and is really hard to undo later.

That, and someone just posted here that London received their case Friday - and they got packet 3 in the post today.

Not sure how much faster the embassy could get. Let them do their work - you'll be amazed with the results!
