How do you determine a touch? I am checking my case status online and can only see the recent update. Funny thing is the date change from 06/10 it became 06/12 per my checking however it still states the same information that my case was sent to California Service Center. Quite confusing

that "date change" you mention is what we call a TOUCH.. So you have received two touches so far. One on 6/10 and another on 6/12

I am a Feb filer... and for so long i have been checking USCIS website like 4 times a day to see if i got any touches or... got approved...
then last week i was so fedup.. that i stopped checking... and today i got an email saying that i have been approved... YAY!!!!

So all the Feb filers... hang in there... there is light at the end of this tunnel... !!!:)

OMG!!!! I AM STILL IN SHOCK!!!! I GOT MY NOA2 approval today EL HAMDULILLAAAAAAAAH!!! (even though it was approved 06/14/07...but i did not receive the e-mail until this morning)!! I just want to say thanks for all you VJers for keeping me sane and now I can FINALLY say...one mile of the journey done...still a whole marathon to go...cheesy yes but it is the truth...lol...and now to NVC...the waiting continues...lol...GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WAITING!!!!!

Soooo, today I called the NVC to check with them about my case.. and lo and behold, they said they had received my case and actually sent out the Agent of Choice stuff already! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? So to make sure I called USCIS but in their system we are not listed as approved yet.. So I am not sure who to believe.. the NVC that says they got our case, or USCIS that say we aren't approved yet.. Not sure whether to laugh or cry about it..

Sorry, stupid question, but what is "Agent of Choice stuff"?

Uhmm... that's interesting. Did the NVC give you a case number? If they did, they you're approved and they'll start processing your paperwork. I would e-mail the agent of choice back to them by using the shortcuts once they give you a case number and see what happens.


Sangrita, the agent of choice is for CR1/IR1 visa petitioners who need to choice who they want the NVC to mail all correspondence to. It could be the petitioner or the beneficiary.

Yeah, through the automated system the NVC gave me our NVC case number and it also said that they had sent the AOS fee bill and the Agent of Choice form.. I already emailed them the AoC..

It's just strange because we got touched today and it still says "case received and pending"..
