I filled in the beginning of April for our I-751 and not only have we not received our NOA-1, but they have not cashed our check. Has anyone experience experienced the same from Vermont?

we filed in mid-march to vermont. they cashed the cheque about 8 days later and we received our NOA about 10 days after that.
sorry that yours isn't as speedy. sad.gif

just an extra note, since i see you're through newark too. we got our appointment for biometrics notice only a few days before our actual biometrics appointment, so keep an eye on your mailbox.

I sent in my application on the 14th and they received it on the 16th. But nothing in the mail yet, and the checks have not been cashed.

I don't mind the little interest on the money, but they really should go ahead and cash the check.

We went ahead and scheduled an Inforpass for next week to ask for a I-551 stamp. We leave the country for 10 days the day after my wife's CGC expires.

I sent files on 4/13 and they got them very next day... but they did not cash yet or mail anything... my expire will be end of june... so should I call or should I do anything or just wait??

vermont is getting real slow... I will appriciated if anyone to tell me about !!

thanks and good luck with everyone!
Gringa
I think that Vermont is working a little bit slow. I also filed mime on 4/27, but it's too early to know plus I sent a money order instead of a check. Will keep you all post.

By reading some timelines and some post and kind of scare on how long my husband's I-751 will be approved.

Good luck to all.

Hi all,

i sent mine to VT on Apr 12. It was received the next day, however the check has not been cashed and I have not received anything in the mail.

Will update when I hear something!
j-manu
I called the USCIS 800 number this evening and the message stated that all application should be filed, receipt numbers mailed and back in our hands within 4 weeks. For us - yesterday was 4 weeks. The message stated that we should call if we do not receive a notice within 4 weeks. I am calling first thing Thursday morning. I will be back and will let you know what they say.

USCIS number 800-375-5283 8am to 6 pm.

Hi I filled mine this year...check my timeline...
Im so anxious....
what a long wait
j-manu
I did not call the USCIS, because the check cleared my bank on 5/2/07.

From the hand written notes on the front of the check, it appears that someone at Vermont processed this on Sunday, 4/30/07. Hopefully we will see the notice soon.
j-manu
I did cal for the fun of it and here is an update. Both Vermont and California have slowed down and have asked that people wait 45 days to have their case logged in and receipt number mailed out. The other service center are still only 30 days. wacko.gif

I assume what you received was the USPS confirmation of delivery, not the NOA, right?

We mailed our I-751 on April 3, UPSP confirmed delivery on April 6. Since then, nothing, like for the other posters here.

That appears to be a little over 30 days. I hope that they do not get any slower.

Hey April I-751 filers in Vermont - any updates?

Out of frustration, I called the 800 number this morning twice. The first person that I talked to told me that they don't track I-751s on line. That my application number on my biometric receipt is my receipt number, but she did not know why I had two EAC number. To keep it short, she was no help, so I hung up and called back to ask my questions to someone else. The second person was trouble to why I had two EAC number so transferred me to a supervisor. The supervisor was a lot of help, confirmed that the second number was the receipt number (although it can not be accessed on line yet) and that we will be receiving in a few days our NOA1.

If you are still in a holding pattern and you hit the 45 day mark - make a phone call. Call even at 30 days.

Hello everyone,

We sent off our I-751 to Vermont April 27, it was recieved April 29. check has not yet been cashed. waiting it awful especially since we have to travel out of the country on July 18. From these timelines it looks like we'll be lucky to have our check cashed by the 30 day mark. All i know is as soon as that 30 day mark hits, if i haven't heard anything I'm calling.

I think there should be special therapists that deal with people who have to go through immigration procedures.

let's hope vermont speeds up soon!

Well I see that you and me are going to share our timeline. I sent my on April 27 and was received on the 30. I have not get any respond at all.

Does any one know how long it takes to get the first NOA? I just want to be sure that our application is in Vermont. Thanks in advance.

from what i read up at previous posts, someone who called the INS office said that both Vermont and California have slowed down this past month and are extended the time for the first NOA to 45 days.....again from above it looks as though they are cashing checks about a month after it is recieved. Still I'm calling on the 30 day mark regardless.
keep us all posted!

30 to 45 days is about right. Today we received my wife's biometric appointment letter. Yesterday her NOA1. See my time line below.

Quick update:

Sent the I-751 to Vermont on 4/16 and it arrived the next day. They cashed the check this past Friday.

My 751 was received in Vermont on April 23rd.

I just got my blue letter today (May 21). They have not cashed my check yet.

Am somewhat annoyed that my life is constantly at the mercy of the USCIS... am going to go ahead and book my flights to england in July (am in a wedding) and if I don't get the NOA before then I'll just have to get an infopass appointment for a stamp.. that can be done, right? blush.gif

I can't wait until this is all over. I came over originally on a J1 so this has been going on 7 years of forms, filing, checks and waiting in line at places like Newark INS and the DMV.. I'm done! Citizenship, here I come! laughing.gif

hey there.

yeah book your flights. I'm in pretty much the same camp as you except our flights have been booked for months, we are traveling back to england for my husband's sisters wedding. From everything I've read I'm sure you can get an info pass appt to get a 551 stamp in your passport. do you have a lawyer? If you do it may not be a bad idea to have them send INS a letter from your lawyer stating that you are in a wedding in england with copies of your travel recipts and the wedding invitation. I included those things in my packet hoping that it would have some affect. but if they've even opened my packet at this point i'd be suprised.

info pass appts seem fairly easy to get, if i make one i'm going to bring copies of my travel plan reciepts and the wedding invite, as well as the copy of the 751 packet i made. I'm waiting until the middle of June to get our extension letter and if that doesn't happen then i'm making an appt.

i know it's frustrating. hang in there. OH what is the difference between the "blue letter" and the green card extenstion letter? i can't believe they haven't even cashed your check....what in the world is going on in vermont?

I have no idea about the blue letter, it seems to be a receipt for the fees - but since they didn't cash the check it seems a little weird to have the receipt already....!

I have also been holding off on booking the flights until I got enough BA miles for a free ticket blush.gif which just happened so I'm going to do it soon.

Just received the blue finger Print Receipt Notification dated 05/18/07...... it took 28 dates since I mailed on 4/27

Hope we could get the fingerprint notice soon.

VSC
To break the bubble of you guys, VSC is getting very slow processing I-751 now days.

It takes from 3 weeks to 6 weeks sometime just to cash your check or money order.

Just hang in there, it will happen. My check was cleared after 28 days after they received my package.

Your perminant resident status will not change as long as your case in process.

If they find anything wrong with your documents, they will send you back whole package with explaination letter.

I don't see that happen except there are some errors in documents you've sent.

Don't worry about anything, if you have received letter saying they have collected fees, you will be expecting NOA and fingerprint schedule notice soon.

Vermont SC seems to changed their process flow recently.

I am sure when you read this, you already have received your NOA and fingerprint schedule notice.
If not, you will be soon.

Hello VSC,

A question, why are you getting so slow recently. When I got my I-130 approved, it only took 19 days. Now it appears that the I-751 are taking 6 to 7 months?

Thanks for any information that you can share.

Well, I do not know any official internal VSC information neither anyone else do.
But according to reading experiences from many peoples, it takes from 6 months to few years to approve your I-751

Also fees for I-751 & biomentic will be changed from $275 to $545 on July 30th of this year.
So if anyone fits in this time frame, you better file it ASAP to avoide higher fees.

N400 fees will be change to $675 the same day.

Hey Guys...

Question, after the blue finger print reciept is the NOA1 the letter that extends your current green card? Is that the first letter you get? Or is everyone getting them in a different order?

My check was cashed the 24th and no news since then.....I"m just in desperate need for that letter as we are traveling to England on July 18.

Thanks

The blue letter for biometric money receipt is not your NOA1. This is a seperate document and it will extend your visa for one year. You will also receive a biometric appointment letter as well. A few people had this one arrive before the NOA1. It should be any day now that you will receive these two letters.

I would say within 3 weeks, you should expect your NOA and finger print appointment letter.
You may receive before that or after that.....never know.

Hang in there, it will come.....just you have to do is wait and wait.

I got my receipt!

I-751 Form received at VSC April 23
Blue letter received May 21
NOA received June 1 (postmarked May 30)
lumpy115
Hello all,
Great info here.

Mailed I-751 April 19
Received blue receipt dated May 15
Received NOA dated May 23 (says 1-year GC extension, and to wait for biometrics letter).
Now we're standing by for biometrics appointment.

Here's the problem. I'm still in Virginia for 2 more weeks, where all our mail is being sent to by USCIS. My wife has already moved up to NY, where we will be for about a month, then to Hawaii (my job has me moving around a lot).

I just filed online the address change for my wife to NY (no problem, got the confirm #). When I tried to also proceed and change the address for our pending case, I was not able to. When I entered the receipt number and the form type (I-751), it said that my receipt number did not correspond with the form. (I also looked for the form CRI89, which is what my receipt says its called in the computer, but that type of form is not an option on the change address thing.

From looking at all of your timelines, I'm guessing that I'll be getting my wife's biometrics appointment letter here, hopefully in the next 2 weeks before I depart Virginia for good. I'm thinking I'll just wait, hopefully get the biometrics appointment (which will have her going to the local office here in Virginia), and then take that receipt number and make an infopass appointment for the actual office that she's close to up in NY.

Or, do I call USCIS this week, tell them about the address change to NY, and risk getting everything screwed up?

Sorry, a little confusing I know, but any advice would help. My hope really is that I get the biometrics appointment this week and I'll just call up or schedule her for a NY appointment. I did that a couple of years ago when we were first going through applying for permanent residence. We lived in CA, but were still getting our USCIS mail in NY. I always had my parents in NY forward us the biometrics appointment letters and we just went to the local CA support centers.

Hi Guys,

I just received the letter extending my PR card for a year, and the letter for the Biometrics appointment over the weekend.
So it took exactly 45-46 days since filing like J-Manu had said in earlier posts. What is interesting is that on one of the letters, they said that My application was received on "MAY 17TH" even though my application was signed for on "APRIL 16TH". I'm wondering if this was a just a mistake, or they are actually beginning to work on applications much later than they receive them due to the backlog. That makes much more sense.

Anyways, all the best to everyone else.

Cheers,

No mistake. I am guessing that is when they actually loged in the I-751. Ours had two different dates. First the date that it was signed for, then the date of the biometric receipt and lastly the date the application receipt. May be it makes them feel better that the process is not as long wacko.gif
