Hi everyone. My fiancee and I have been travelling, and Chris was planning on flying back to the UK in several weeks for his Medical and hopefully his interview. However it looks like the dates are taking a lot longer these days, and still no word on Packet 4 or an interview date?

We were hoping he could come visit me in the states for a few weeks so that we wouldn't have to be apart for so long. Has anyone done this??? Did you have a lot of trouble going through Immigration on arrival? Has anyone been denied? Just don't want to pay all the money for the plane ticket if it is not going to work!

Thanks!

People have been denied but the majority go through just fine. It is up to the discression of the immigration officer. He needs to bring proof of ties to the UK (ie, letter from an employer etc.). I read somewhere here that someone brought the visa paperwork with them and upon being question showed the paperwork which indicated the stage of the process which they were in and then they were let through just fine without anymore hassle.

I'm from Canada but this pretty much goes for anyone visiting their fiance or spouse during this process. I flew to visit my husband every three weeks during my K3 process and didn't have any problems. Bring proof of ties to the UK (letter from employer, apartment lease or house mortgage, car papers, etc.) and also bring all your immigration paperwork showing that you are doing things legally and where you are in the process.

I was only asked once on my second to last visit about if I had applied for a visa. I answered all the officer's questions and offered to show him my paperwork. He declined and said he believed me and wished me a good weekend and that I would get an interview date soon. The last visit the officer just asked me before I said anything whether I was going to see my husband and if I got my interview date yet. I told him yes, when the interview was for. He commented about how hard it must be to be separated and then he wished me good luck at the interview and a good weekend. I was never pulled into secondary on any of my visits.

Be confident and most importantly, be honest.

I've experienced the exact OPPOSITE with London - from my experience, they're moving at lightning pace these days. Your timeline doesn't show much. When did you receive and mail back packet 3?

So London is moving quickly?

If he has sent in some of the paperwork, but not his checklist (since he's waiting on the police certs) what happens now?

Anyone have a clue? smile.gif

They are moving really quickly, no doubt about it -- we had 1 day between the NOA2 and Packet 3. However, until he sends the checklist in he won't get Packet 4 with the interview date. How long has it been since he sent off for his police certificate?

The checklist basically tells them 'we have everything and we're ready for an interview'.

Until he does that, they'll just sit on his paperwork.

Not chilly here recently -- must have been around 25C yesterday, and I was playing frisbee on Hampstead Heath in a T-shirt, followed by an orange Calippo! biggrin.gif

You know, this "London is being fast" fact should make me happy, but all it does is stress me out. Because My NOA2 *should* have come a week or two ago, based on the speed at which Nov and Dec filers were being approved. If I could just get to the damn NVC! But now I'm terrified that once we get to NOA2sville, something will clog up the pipes at the NVC or in London and then, whoosh, the wheels grind to a halt and I miss this speedy trend too!

ARGH!!!!!

Believe me, TimsDaisy - I completely know how you feel! I was in the same boat right before our NOA2. London being speedy doesn't help one iota when still stuck at the service center...!

Sorry to depress those waiting on Service Centers... sad.gif

I just got my packet 4 today (Apr 30th), having sent off my packet 3 on April 23rd. My interview is June 7th. They are moving pretty quickly, I hope it lasts for you all.

That's great news. Good to know that interview dates are starting to line up in June now. Chris sent some of packet 3 in back on April 1st, but didn't send the checklist in until April 26th. I guess I should update my timeline to show the progress.

Chris may risk coming to the states for a week or two to visit. If he has an intervew date I'm hoping that would ensure that he wouldn't be denied entry seeing as he would most certainly make it back to London for his scheduled interview date.

Yep - good news indeed. We're one day behind kins (June 8th). I think waiting to send back the checklist is what's likely caused your delay. Hopefully you'll get word soon.
