I've been poking around and can't figure it out!!
LuckyStrike

go to 'my controls'
then 'edit signature'
put a picture in the signature block the same way you post on in a thread.
(host it on imageshack and click the picture icon (in VJ above the sig block) and put the direct link in the space provided))

Thats the problem, I don't know how to add them on a thread either.
I have no problem with the Avatar picture- it has an option to use pics you have stored in your computer.
There is an "add image" box when I choose "edit signature" when I click it it asks for URL code. I don't know what that is..
LuckyStrike
Apr 27 2007, 01:16 PM
you don't need an account for this...
go here...
http://imageshack.us/click browse and find a pic on your computer
click 'host it'
copy the link in 'Direct link to image' into the 'insert image' box
you can also put most pics on the web in a sig or thread. right click the pick and hit 'properties' . copy and paste the pic URL in the same place. make sure the URL ends in a picture file... jpg, gif etc....

The error returned was:
Sorry, dynamic pages in the [IMG] tags are not allowed

Karin and Otto managed to post the picture I was trying to post. I am trying to figure out how she did it.
I am getting frustated and a bit of a headache now!
I have to go get ready for work. I will try again later.
Thanks again for trying to help the Blonde!

ok, I figured it out.. you grabbed the wrong code.... when you use the insert image thing you need to grab the URL Link not the IMG code...
if you want to add the image to your sig just grab the IMG code and directly paste it into the edit signature box and hit update signature....
*Marilyn*
Apr 27 2007, 03:05 PM

ok so image shack works a little different then Photobucket (the one I use)
to use the "insert image" feature on VJ using Image Shack, copy and paste the link shown here "Direct link to image"
and to add the image directly to you sig.. copy and paste the link shown here.... "Hotlink for forums (1)" into the edit sig box on VJ.....
MissStacey
Apr 27 2007, 03:24 PM
Ok. I know once I manage to do it, I'll realize how easy it is

I also know how hard it is to explain this to someone else via typing, so thank you for your patience!!

I keep getting that "dynamic image" response when I try to put a ticker on my signature. These (and one other one that I didn't like) were the only ones I could get to work. Going to try that pulling out the IMG part to see if it works for me!

Nope...same silly message.
Trying the tickers from www.tickerfactory.com. Can I just not use those?

or not grabbing the whole URL.
imageshack is easier than photobucket
no account required and you click....
BROWSE and choose picture
then
HOSTnothing to it. that's why I suggested it. maybe the copy and paste commands threw her off

I think it just is a little confusing knowing which code to use with image shack...
with photo-bucket all you have to do is click on the code you want and it automatically copies it..... the only other difference really is that you need an account to use pohtobucket.... everything else is the same.. you can even upload web urls now with photobucket.... I just think it is easier to know which code to use with photobucket but that is just my opinion....

I have no problem with the browse and host part.
There are 4 lines with codes (hotlink to forum 1, hotlink to forum 2, show to friends, and another) which one do I copy and paste?

I was pressing the insert image box and then trying to paste the code. I didn't have to do that. I just pasted it right on the signature and that worked fine. Now I have to play around a little with placing the images in certain spots.
