I want to leave for the US in a few days (to see my g/f again) but I just got back on sunday after 86 days. is there a time limit i have to take between trips.

also if i left to spend time( a week or less) in canada would it reset my 90 days.

I am not sure about the UK but I would visit the USA and come back and then my 90 days in the USA would be re-set. I would come back in the same year and always get my 90 days. I never had a time limit, and as long as you have a return ticket all should be ok. I am not sure if different rules apply to the UK or not though.

Hi, i'm from the UK, and maybe i could help on this topic as i've just been through it, with the 90 day limit.
I stayed for 86 days, but instead of returning to the UK, i went to New Zealand for 10 days to visit family, then went back to the US for another 63 days. I didn't have any issues at immagration. Just the standard questions.
As for going to Canada, that DOESN'T reset your 90day limit, neither does going to Mexico. I was told by the US Embassey that you "need to leave the land mass"

In some countries you can do a very quick "step-out" to a neighboring country to reset your clock. Under VWP this is not an option. This might have been the CBP officers attempt at a simple explanation of the limitation

Not really, no, it's not OK.
You are supposed to spend as much time OUT as you did IN.
Come on over and give it a try, but be prepared to be refused entry and go home on the next flight. The VWP is not for living in the US, it is for visiting.
If you stayhome for awhile and work, and demonstrate that your ties to HOME are stonger than your ties to the US, then it's a good time to come back for another visit.
It sometimes helps to remember that the typical annual vacation allowence in the US is 2 weeks. People don't generally take 6 months vacation.

You have to leave the Western Hemisphere Travel Area... i.e. North and Central America or the Carribean... in order to get the chance at another 90 days...
I also wished to goto university there 2 colleges have accepted me but im stuck in red tape thanks to WES and ED-excel
