I was just wondering how many of us started DCF in Frankfurt?
Wacken
Me, but you know that from the other thread. tongue.gif

Hey, promising update you have in your timeline! Cool!
MaydayDas
Thanks Wacken, I will dance kicking.gif when I get my interview appointment. Hope your waiting will not be so long good.gif
Walter G.
I'm DCFing via Frankfurt, too. Been two months since I've heard anything, but I guess that's normal.

Walter

Hi to all of you, I know you all already...i wonder if we are only 4 people left with DCF in Germany tongue_ss.gif
Mammimaus2007
Hi all, I guess I will be #4 whistling.gif We have a Appointment in Frankfurt on Monday to file in person (Frankfurt) I'm doing DCF I-130 and hope it wont take tooooooo long with the new Law.

I used to live in the US and was a Greencard holder but surrendered Residency in Nov. 2005 to move back to Germany. (BIG MISTAKE) well now I have to do it all over again. I am a german citizen and my husband is american. We have a Co-Sponsor since my husband is also in Germany with us.
MaydayDas
Welcome to VJ Mammimaus2007. Now we are 5 with DCF. Keep us inform with everything that happens in your case and I hope it's gonna be a speedy journey for you. good.gif
Wacken
Well, I woke up this morning and my daughter is sick with teething. That was bad. sad.gif

I went and checked my e-mail though, and I received notice today that our I-130 was approved and they have shipped our petition off to the consulate. We should get a letter from them sometime within the next two weeks.

Awesome. Luck to all the rest of you waiting for approval. smile.gif

poor girl suffering with teething
your petition was approved so fast? wow ......congratulations good.gif
Mephibosheth
Wacken... Happy Happy Happy !!!!!
makes me hopeful

thank you so much for updating
Wacken
Thanks. I sent the e-mail out on Monday night (early Tuesday morning in D) and got my response today on Friday (anyway you look at it). Wasn't lighnting fast, but worth the wait, I guess, for the good news. uscis.frankfurt@dhs.gov

They also gave me a number of doom to call at the Consulate for further instructions. I think it is too late to try it now, but I will call them on Monday before work.
MaydayDas
My husband got in touch with one of the Officers that works at the petitions and they had like 100 petitions ready to be transfered to the Visa Section...this was last week....Maybe more of us to be lucky. Thanks God! kicking.gif
Wacken
Oh, and I also used my daughter's Consular Report of Birth Abroad as further evidence of a relationship and nothing else because I was too lazy to translate the entire first page of our lease. Seems to have been acceptable.
MaydayDas
Now waiting for the interview whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif
Wacken
Haha, well, couldn't help myself. I tried the number anyway. It was to a bank. Woman on the phone said that she gets that all the time. tongue.gif

I got a hold of someone at the Consulate and she said that the I-130 hadn't arrived there yet, but to give it about a week and they should have it. I should expect the letter/packet in about 10-14 days.
MaydayDas
USCIS gave you a wrong number to call the Visa Section? laughing.gif
I called the Consulate today and I got the same answer like you. good.gif
Wacken

Hello,
Please be informed that your petition has been approved.
Please contact the IV section for the further steps. 069-75325-8200
USCIS FRANKFURT

That was the e-mail I got from them. Do NOT call that number if you get it. It is to a bank, not the Consulate.
MaydayDas
I have this number 06975358200 since I started the DCF, I got it from the Consulate. USCIS messed up the number, they put an extra number 2 in there. Typical USCIS to make mistakes.

Well, hope we hear soon about the interview.....I wonder if Walter got any response about his petition unsure.gif
Wacken
Hehe, figures. I don't know when I will be calling them again. I do want to give them at least the 10-14 days to mail something out before I call them again. Thanks for the correct number. smile.gif

Yeah, Walter should be approved if I was, in deep theory. I filed after he did. Hope you are posting next Walter with a tenative approval!
MaydayDas
good.gif Let me know when you have news.....I think I will try to call again next Friday....Uf waiting is soooo hard! tongue_ss.gif
Because I waited so long for my petition to be approved I will face soon a new problem: my passport. The IV Section wants the passport to be at least 6 months valid in the moment they issue the visa ....in June my problem starts crying.gif . Let's see how I am gonna fix it.

Thanks for remembering me! No, nothing yet. I finally got a response to one of my many e-mails to Frankfurt last week, but it was pretty much a form letter ("Your I-130 is still being adjudicated. This process usually takes from 60-90 days." Wow, thanks for the info!)

I'm glad y'all are officially on the way! Adriana, that was good thinking to go over Frankfurt's head...I think such offices need a bit of pressure now and again. And Wacken, your petition getting approved (congrats, by the by) gives me hope that mine will get through soon. Only problem is, I didn't send proof that our relationship was valid. I even e-mailed saying I'd be willing to send proof, but in the answer (same mail as above) simply said "you will be informed if you need to send anything more." I'm hoping that the fact that we have two children together is proof enough blink.gif (After all, children's birth certificates count as proof, and they do have copies of them. I just hope they'll think to dig them up!)

Anyway, cross your fingers for me!

Walter
MaydayDas
Walter, it is very possible just because you added your kids birth certificate not to be necessary to send proof of your marriage. Send again an email or call, maybe you are approved too. Wish you the best.

BTW, nice website good.gif

I think I'll give it a few days before I e-mail them again--I don't want to get on their bad side, ya know?

I'm glad you like the website! Though honestly, I haven't had a moment to work on any of them for a long time, what with our moving to the US and all. Oh well, maybe I'll get to it some day...

Walter
MaydayDas
Ja, I know what you mean, dealing with USCIS is not an easy task.
When you planned to move to US? and where?

Yeah, I just sent my daughter's Consular Report of Birth Abroad and that seemed have been enough. I did not include any further evidence.
Mammimaus2007
it went fine and the Officers have been very friendly in Frankfurt

We left Aschaffenburg close to 8am in the morning since our appointment was at 9:30am
we got into a traffic jam on the Autobahn but still made it to the Consulate by 9:15am. We got in line to obtain a Ticket and than in the other line for security check. Then we had to sit down and wait for our number to be called. meanwhile Thomas had to make some passport photos and we had a problem with change, the passport thingy only took change and the change machine was out of order but another very friendly couple gave us some change.

Our Number was called and we had to go upstairs to window 40. Gosh have we been nervouse LOL I don't even know why. The Officer was very friendly and even joked around a little bit, asking about Texas etc. and what made us get married in Waco TEXAS? We than had to go downstairs to pay the fee of $190 and to make a copy of my Divorce Judgement, we had to go upstairs to turn it in and had to go back downstairs to wait for our Number to be called again for Window 23 to turn in the Application for Immigrant Visa. That Lady was very friendly too and explained us the whole process, asked me some Questions, gave us some more forms and also asked when we plan on going to the US. We told her in September. She told us I could either make my medical on beginning of July or the same day I will get my Interview. They will Schedule my Interview as soon as I-130 is approved and I Faxed the Form that I am ready and have all Forms required. The Medical will cost 125 Euros and on the Interview day I have to pay the last Fee of $380.
Now we have to wait for the Documents of our Co-Sponsors and we are all ready
I'll keep you all updated!!!!

Great Mammimaus2007, congratulations for starting your visa process and good luck for a speedy journey!
I started DCF the same like you, we went directly to the Consulate because it says it is faster if you start in person the process versus the mail.
Our I-130 just got approved, we waited a long time for that, aprox 4 months. It was a nighmare!
I hope yours will be approved faster. good.gif good.gif

We're not sure when we're moving yet--if I don't get a job, then I'll be flying in August and returning for my family in September. This should be enough time in any case for the visa to go through (I hope).

If I do get a job, then it might move up some, maybe as early as July. This would be pushing it as far as the time schedule goes!

We're moving to the west coast in any case. I'm mainly applying for jobs in Portland, OR, but I've also applied for a couple in the San Francisco area. We're just waiting to see what comes of it!

Congrats again, MaydayDas!

I just also got an e-mail from the IV section saying that they have already sent out Packet 3 to my husband's old address and are sending a new one to the new address. Not like it makes one bit of diffference because it is all going to a post office box, but hehe, they have my petition now too.
MaydayDas
That is great Wacken, it means they worked at our visas in the same time, I got my interview because I started the process in person and I already told them in January that I am ready with all the documents. For sure if your husband replies fast that he has his docs ready he will get soon an interview.

I am soooooooo happy kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Hehe, well, there is no huge rush for us with the interview. Like I said, no matter what, my husband is stuck in Germany until September or October because of uni. I am still waiting on my tax transcripts and we are only this morning doing the DS-230. I think we are going to request a date in early-mid July. We'll ave a better idea after this weekend.

Still, cool for you! It is right around the corner!
MaydayDas
You right, if you are not in a rush it is better to have later the interview.....visa is good for 6 months so july it covers until January.

kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif still happy
Wacken
Heh, my husband tried to scan the entire packet for me. When he finished, the program screwed up and wouldn't let him save anything. tongue.gif

Dumb question, but you only send back the DS-230 I and fill out part II at the cousulate, right?
MaydayDas
Correct good.gif , DS 230 part 2 must be signed in front of the Officer at the interview

damn scanner biggrin.gif
Wacken
Thanks, I thought so, but couldn't remember. tongue.gif
MaydayDas
what contains packet 3? my process skips that part biggrin.gif
Wacken
Checklist and visa application, basically, with some other information (which I have yet to see...). They probably skipped it for you because you already done it.
MaydayDas
yes i did it when I started the process...i was just curious what's in there.......

and still happy kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif
Wacken
OK, he got it to work. It was:

*A cover letter with case number
*Checklist & info for faxing it
*Info for the medical
*I-864 and instructions
*Photo guidelines
*Sponsor address change form
MaydayDas
I got them in my first visit to the Consulate.
Great good.gif

and again happy kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

you need to complete and sign I-864 and the change of address
Wacken
Just about finished the I-864 this weekend. That was a blast.

ZzzzZzzzZz.
MaydayDas
what a great feeling to see the light at the end of the tunnel! kicking.gif
Wacken
Now working on the cover letter for the I-864. Feels like I am at work because this is same kind of bureaucratic crap I do there. Well, I am well practiced then, anyway. tongue.gif

Yes, the end is neigh for us. smile.gif
MaydayDas
lol good luck with that cover letter good.gif
Wacken
ZzzZ, where is my husband's Packet 4? My husband got the card in the mail yesterday from the post office saying they received the visa application at least on the 5th. The checklist he sent out on the same day and also has confirmation of that. I will email them tomorrow to ask where it is if he still doesn't have it.
MaydayDas
Packet 4 suppose to arrive in a week......for sure is tomorrow in the mail wink.gif
agnes2012
hello everybody smile.gif

I have just read the guide about DCF and I am thinking if I should ask them if they will do that favor to me, before sending I 130 packet.....?

I am Polish residing in Germany for 2 years now. My husband is stationed here in Air Base. They did my K1 visa here.

greetings star_smile.gif
