Hello everyone,

I remember reading somewhere on Visajourney the advice that it is good to go to St. Luke's in the afternoon for the first day of the medical. Can anyone confirm or deny that? My fiancee is planning on going next week. And if the morning is the best time to go, how early should she arrive?

Thanks in advance for your input. After so many months of waiting, I'm surprised at how fast everything is moving now!!!!!

If she's comfortable with arriving at around 5am, that would be okay. That's what I did, and I didn't find the process overly tedious. Just try to get her a copy of sillygirl's medical guide. I was finished by 930.

If she will arrive mid-morning, it might not be as good, because the lines are long.

If she will arrive in the afternoon, the process takes about 2 1/2 hours, at least from what I was told. The problem with taking the exam in the afternoon is that they (acquaintances who took the exam in the afternoon told me this, so it's not primary info, coming from me) were asked to return for their results in the afternoon, and some had to wait til 7pm. As opposed to morning people who may have to wait for just a while, or til lunchtime (mine was because of signature authentication things).

It's really her choice, but given a second chance, I'll still go in the morning. smile.gif

It depends on her what time she wants.
I had my medical last week and i went there around 7am (SLEC starts 7:30am). Im done after 2 hours and left at 10:30am. Filling out forms is time consuming thats why my med exams started exactly 8:30am.

Just like Iya said, if u finished in the morning during ur first day, the second day u are scheduled to return in the morning as well to get the results and be out before lunch. As my advise, why not do it in the morning?! smile.gif

Dont forget to tell her to memorize your case number, your address and telephone number and also her passport number...always asked on fill out forms. Goodluck!

I really think that its dependant upon the daily case load. My wife took hers about 10 days ago. 1st. day was basically all day, 700- 1530. 2nd day afternoon appt for vaccs., which in and of itself took 3 hours. good luck, jeff

Robert,

Tell Mharis to go there in the morning. One of my fellow June 7 interview appointments had her medical done today. She went there at 7:00am and done 10:00am. She said everything went smoothly and quickly. I'd go there next week to pick up my Packet 4 as until now, I haven't received mine and then have the medical at the same time...

I hope things are well!

Cheers!

Orion's fiancee got her packet 4 two weeks ago. I'm still waiting for mine but it seems like it's taking forever so I'd go to St. Lukes to have it picked up...

Hope to see you on June 7, Rio!

Good luck to us!

Thanks Mae,

Mharis plans to go May 8 and 9. I hope you are hanging in there. Almost there!!!!!

RioDeugene,

I called and emailed the embassy and the packet was sent right out.

Thanks again to everyone for posting, it helps. BTW, are cavities any concern?
