Years ago, I booked my first UK trip thru Continental...and flew on Virgin. I had previously checked Virgin and the price was crazy high. Turns out they are (or at least were) 'sister airlines'...so check it out!

My Dad's friend works for the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and he speaks glowingly of the company, albeit not the owner!

With all the flights I've taken, they are by far the mack daddy
The first time I flew over there, I was all teary at the counter with my mom...oh and I was one of the last ones to check in also....well they not only called a golf cart over to have him drive me to my gate, they gave my mom a pass to let her thru to the gate to watch me board. It was so nice of them and my mother and I appreciated it immensely.

Agree--I've never had a good travel experience with any US-based airline outside of the Vancouver-Halifax "box".
