Michael's tracking number for his documents from Montreal is not showing up in the system yet... I'm just wondering if I should hold out any hope that it may show up tomorrow nonetheless.

I think I'm going to reschedule my exam I'm supposed to take on Wednesday just in case, but thought I would check the reliability of the tracking system in case anyone had some input

It sucks. I expressposted some documents to Mel. After the 5 days he still didn't get them. The tracking number on the website told me nothing. Only when I sent it. I phoned them and they said they would find out where it was, they didn't phone back.

Mel got it yesterday. I sent it on April 10th. I think Canada Post will refund me the money though. I'll phone tomorrow.

I just sent his Birthday present by mail too. I hope he gets that ok.

The tracking system is weird sometimes. I remember tracking an envelope from another province to Ontario and after it arrived, the status finally showed up online saying it was in transit... Good job Canada Post!

I think it depends where and when it was sent whether it shows up in the tracking system. Most of the time on PEI I couldn't track anything cause it's origin was small town PEI (and they didn't have an actual scanner to scan it into the system). I could see it online LATER after it was delivered but then to track it as it made it's way across the country - not a chance.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the rest.. it's no where near as reliable and accurate as Fed Ex or anything. Rather Hit & Miss.

I'm actually bizarrely happy to hear it's somewhat unreliable - it means there's still hope it will arrive tomorrow

I guess it varies because I had no problems tracking a package I sent my inlaws. It was updated every 2-3 hours on the website.

I had variable success with it!! Sometimes it would work, sometimes it didn't, lol

Canada Post's tracking system is as reliable as Canada Post.

They mailed my visa laste Monday and I got it last Wednesday - Montreal to Vancouver. That's pretty good I think... Are you in Toronto? I think you'll probably get it today!

Yes, we're in Toronto... I sure hope we get it today, if we do we're throwing everything in the truck and leaving today

I'm just not sure if Montreal mailed it out yet... his interview was last Wednesday. But if they mail it today we should get it tomorrow. We'll see what happens

I'm thinking they probably sent it out Friday and that you'll get it today. Hopefully my hunch is correct!

grrr, I just called Montreal and apparently the visa was just "issued" today - and may or may not go out in the mail today... she said he should get it by the end of the week I have to leave by Wednesday at the absolute latest, so I will just hope that they mail it out today I guess. Either way it will be fine, but it will mean an extra trip up to get his stuff, unless they let me bring it across before him.

Since you are married, his stuff is your stuff and your stuff is his... so you should totally do this if you don't get the visa by Wednesday, but we are all crossing our fingers that you get it by then

Well, I have several theories about this delay now...

a. Montreal hates me.

b. Canada Post hates me.

c. They both hate me and have made a pact to torture me.

d. I have lost my frickin' mind!

I'm trying to keep my cool, but seriously! If it was issued yesterday, why haven't they mailed it... and if it has been mailed, why isn't it showing up on the tracking?

I've had to reschedule both of my exams this week b/c I couldn't take the stress of having to get there at last minute!

I feel bad complaining when I know people are still waiting for their interviews, but it makes me feel a bit better - I just want it to be over!

ETA: there is also the possibility that Michael wrote down the tracking number wrong, in which case he won't even need a green card because I will leave him here (jk).

Awe... my thoughts go out to you tonite. Canada Post & Montreal suck.. Hoping that it arrives tomorrow EARLY so you get moving early and make some headway!

Correcting my earlier post, closest response is now "c"--though the pact is not specific for riblet, but extended to all Canucks doing K-visas and CR-1's @ Montreal.

We got it and are now in Kentucky after a 12 hour drive!!! Sorry I didn't have time to woohoo, Michael disconnected the internet before I had time!

I am happy to report Mel got his Birthday present I sent him on time and he loved it (season 1 of Rome)

And today in the mail I got a cheque from Canada Post refunding the amount I paid when I sent Mel the Tax forms. They took much longer than the 5 days they were supoosed to take.
