I was in the process of answering this question when I got booted offline. Kidneys do not regenerate themselves like say, the liver. A person can live with only one, but as we know the body was designed to have two. People can get kidney transplants . Mine are not at that stage yet , and if kidneys fail, they put people on dialysis. What a way to live, eh?

I hope yours don't get any worse. Dialysis is no joke. I wish you the best in all of it.

Looks like we are a bunch of sick tickets, my fiance and myself. He is a beautiful young man with a mechanical heart valve ( since February ) and now gallbladder and liver problems. I got the kidney trouble. If this process lingers on and on, we could be dead . It is in God's hands.
or you two could bounce back and compete in the international organ donor olympics. yes there is such a thing, i've met a woman who ran in it. Good Luck with it all. sounds like the visa journey is not the only path your on right now. I wish you both the best in your recoveries. Sometimes inredible things happen, I've seen it.
What is that movie where the guy wants to win a medal so he pretends to be retarded so he can play in the special olympics, but the problem was that the retarded people were beating him in all of the events?
