Montreal apparently sent me Packet 3 a week and a half ago but I have not yet received it in the mail. I was just thinking - theoretically, as long as I know what I need to send, I should be able to send everything I need to right now. Am I correct? Or are there some forms in Packet 3 for which they'll want me to fill in the exact forms that they send?
(Is mail supposed to take more than a week and a half to arrive in Ottawa from Montreal?!)

From what I recall/read Montreal can get pretty finiky about using their paperwork. At the end of the day they're all the same. It doesn't hurt to fill the forms out in advance so you know what you'll be filling out whrn you get package three in the mail.

Yes they have thier own forms in packet 3 that they want sent back
In Jan I was informed by them to fill out and send back : the checklist, the DS 230 form,
DS156 forms which isn't in the packet but is done online then 2 copies printed with the bar code that comes after entering it. These DS156 forms are taken to the interview
The DS 156k form they sent I still have and take with me when I go. It's filled out but has to be signed in front of them
They also included an I-134 form to be done 3 copies to be notarized and signed. These are also to be taken when the interview happens
Lorry had done up and had the I-134 notarized before we received the packet 3 . After reading on here that they were picky about using thier forms we did another 3 with the form they provided
They explain it all in the cover letter. I also was told to send my 2 passport pics attached to the DS-156 forms
Seems they are changing all the time. I wasn't sure on the pic thing and was a bit confused, so I called and was told "yes send them attached read the instuctions we sent in packet 3"
They are so proffesional at that place lol lol

Packet 3 took a couple of weeks to get to me after they said they mailed it out first. But as suggested, you can at least fill out the online forms and just save the checklist that they will send you for last.

Hi - you should definitely wait until you receive the Packet from them, most importantly it contains your case number which you8 need to include on return correspondance or any type
Packet 3 contained
- their cover letter
- the checklist
- the DS 156K form - which I sent back immediately along with my other DS156 electonric copies
- the I - 134Affidavit of Support - sent it to my fiance
It was not clear to me whether I should hang on to the 156K until the interview or send it immediately...I actually emailed and their answer was vague so I elected to send it.
*** A note to everyone, maybe this isn't new...but the fee at interview is $100, not $50 which is what I heard initially. This is also per person, so if you have children...it's $100/ person. I also confirmed this with Montreal
Cheers

Is the Case # the same number the NVC assigned? If so then I already have it...
Thanks for the helpful info!

I sent everything they sent me in Packet 3 back as well, I didn't send any pics though, *sigh*, I didn't see anything on the letter about that. I just read that we had to have them.
