It's 4 weeks today since the NVC forwarded my case to London. I was concerned I hadn't had any correspondence from them even to acknowledge receipt of it.
I decided to call their line as all my e-mails were "deleted without being read". I asked the operator when I am likely to receive packet 3 and he said approx. 4 weeks. He told me the case was not in their system yet. He didn't seem to think I hadn't heard because my priority date isn't current and spoke like it was early days yet. It's a little frustrating when you read of other people who's case was forwarded after ours and they have since had their medicals and paperwork.
I explained to him that when I first heard from the NVC they sent me a diagram (like I expect we all got) showing where we were in the immigration process. It didn't say there would be a long wait between them forwarding it to London and then the medical/interview.
I put my house up for sale and we have received an offer on it. I'm terrified of losing this house if for some reason we don't get approved. I know it's unlikely but you know what I mean!
Has anybody else had the same experience?

It takes London a little while to get some into the system, when Jon and I went for the K1 in 2005 it was just the same, seeing people come and go after us, I know it is frustrating but please try to be patient, you will be successful.

I guess by "a little while", you mean "sometime between submission and doomsday" (which is unfortunately all-too-accurate when working with USCIS or DOS).

About 3 months for me to get the visa, varies quite a bit.

3 Months from when? When they sent the case to London?
I just checked everything I could find on the London Embassy website and it says that Family memebers subject to numerical limits will hear within 2 months of a visa number becoming available, so I guess that answers my question. Its been 4 weeks since NVC forwarded case and the Guy at the Embassy said I should hear from them in another 4 weeks. At least I know now. Why do they have to make it all a mystery? !!

I did not need a visa number, my papers were passed to London beginning of December, had my Visa beginning of March.

I was unlucky with Christmas, they also seem to slow in the summer.

All dates are approx, the only thing that would surprise me is if it was exactly what they said. Could go either way.

Are you coming over on a spousal petition? There aer no numerical limitations for immediate relatives of USCs.

Hiya - its TracyTN posting under my fiance's user name. smile.gif

I still think that F3s are on a different 'track' than us K visa types. I'm not sure that our experiences /timelines will give you anything but a false sense of what to expect.

Hi Tracey,
Yes I think you are right. I'm hopeful that I will hear within the next Month. Like everyone says, I must learn to be more patient. It's just hard to when you have already waited as long as I have.

Anyway, how are you enjoying your visit to your fiance and your time in London? How are things progressing for him? When do you hope to be together full time? That Dollar/Pound exchange rate must be killing you!
Enjoy the rest of your stay, good luck and thanks for replying.

smile.gif Cheers, tucsonbound.

Things are going by at LIGHTNING pace right now. We just today got the letter with the interview date - June 8th. biggrin.gif Today is my fiance's birthday so that made it even nicer. Anyway that gives him all of May to start going through his belongings and trying to get things sorted out for the move. After the interview, he'll still have a few things to sort out (including selling his car - which he'll need to wait on as it is how he makes his living!). We got the interview letter right before he was heading out to work tonight so we've not sat down yet and postulated about when he might fly over, but I'm guessing end of June?

I am really enjoying my time here - mainly just to spend time with him. smile.gif Not doing a lot of touristy things (you're right about the exchange rate!) but just being together is the main point.

TracyTN
biggrin.gif Thanks but we're rapidly running out of days now (I leave in a week) and already have a few things lined up to do. There's just so much to see in this country - too bad I always seem to come over for a visit when my fiance is skint! laughing.gif
