We were approved this morning. I have to say everyone I had contact with was just lovely. It started with the guard walking the queues, checking for passports and embassy letters. I teasingly asked him not to laugh when he saw my passport photo, so he proceeded to laugh uproariously. Then he said I looked lovely today. That made me feel better. He said, "Well it could be worse." When I asked how? He held my passport up over his head and shouted for all everyone to see "how the people that take passort photos can make even a pretty girl look......less than her best". Strangely, it made me laugh and relax. It was just what I needed.
I'll post more on the review section, but I just wanted to say thank you to all on this forum and VJ in general. What a valuable resource.

Although I've not ever been to the Embassy myself, they seem not as scary as people might make them out to be. When Dave did the retarded forgetting about 2nd part of the interview, I was soooo scared that they'd make him reschedule. They all seemed to just laugh about it. I hope this helps other people who are getting ready to go to their interview to relax.

What is it with passport pictures? My husband looks like a serial killer in his, and I look sloshed. I was sure some worker at CSC would take one look at the photos and stamp a big red "NOT A CHANCE!" across our petitions.

Oh the old have a joke about your passport photo to hit on you trick. The old ones are the best.

When i was travelling a few year ago I had a big traveller beard but my passport photo was that of a fresh faced 16 year old (Glad to finally have a new paaport - in which I too look like a serial killer). So many border crossings where a girl in the line ahead of me would have a long joke about the photo in her passport with the seedy border official (whatever gets you through safely) while they never even looked twice at the clear descrepency in front of them when it was my turn - except when i landed in australia.
