Don't worry! It will be just fine, I did the move in December and I was VERY nervous/scared etc, but once on the plane, you'll be just fine!

May 26th for me via American Airlines. This last trip will give me a free economy class seat or a round-trip business class upgrade. I'm liking the idea of sitting closer to the front of the plane! LOL I can't leave before 7th May, since that's my Mum's birthday.

My fiance is flying from Gatwick on Delta on May 4th. They had originally routed him to Atlanta, then on to Tampa. For some reason, they changed his route so his POE will now be Cincinatti, OH. I don't know if it will make much difference. I'm just hoping the passport patrol in Cinci are nice. I probably will not calm down until I pick him up from the airport and get him home.
I hope everyone has a happy flight and that May will get here soon!!

It was a nervy experience for me. I was fine until I was about to board the plane, then it all hit home that i was leaving good ol blighty! All that went away when I landed though, and I am loving it here in NY.
Oh yeah and it didn't help that I had two US Homeland Security guys come up to me in the HEATHROW departure lounge and ask me all manner of questions. Guess I looked nervous!

I've come through Cincy lots of times and it was my POE for the K-1. They were great. Took me about 2 minutes to get through Immigration!
Delta were great too. You now get a tub of Haagen Daaz mid flight, on top of two meals and three drink rounds! Wooo!

I agree, I thought Delta's food was rather tasty. For the snack, about an hour before you land, they bring round this really scrummy veggie pizza. Mmmmn, pizza.

My husband will hopefully be flying into Phoenix on the 7th, but he bought a flexible ticket just in case. He's flying BA because they're the only carrier with a direct flight from London to Phoenix.
BA's food was yummy years ago, but now it's mostly inedible. You used to get tasty finger sandwiches and surprisingly decent tea as a snack, and the veggie meals were consistently good. Now every vegetarian meal I have on one of their flights tastes like charcoal and dirt, and the lovely finger sandwiches have been replaced by cold baps with a slice of half-frozen cheese and a sad greenish tomato. Blecth. I bring my own food now.

Wow, all these people have also got to the 'flying out there' stage. That is great!
I am flying out to NYC on May 13th, but have to go via Switzerland as it was much cheaper. Longer journey for me to get nervous on, but at least it is more airmiles to add t those coolected on my transatlantic flights over the past few years!
Has anyone flown Swiss Air before? What are they like?

I have not flown with them, but haven't heard anything bad!
Don't get nervous, it'll all go fine now and you'll be back with your hooney!

My husband flies out this Tuesday, April 24 ... I am so excitied!!! His visa was delivered this morning (Sat.) at 7 am!!! The courier said that the location was near his home and he had to be somewhere else by 8 am. My husband will fly with Continental through Newark partially because we both have a lot of frequent flier miles with them ... next trip to UK might be on them.

My POE was newark and it was fine, they weren't friednly but they weren't rude or mean either! With the K-1 visa they make you go in to the secondary screening room to process the visa, its nothing to worry about, just a wait while they do it. I'm sure its probably the same for K-3's, so tell him not to worry when it happens!

So excited for all of you guys making the big move!! I'll be traveling across the pond, but it's only for a visit. I get right fussy if we go more than 2 months without seeing one another. Planning on flying into Gatwick on the 18th and back to Dallas on the 27th. Such a long, boring trip alone. Still...excited to see my sweetheart...even more excited for his next flight over - POE!!

Congrats, PCKAA, and everyone else who's about to be on their way! I'm not leaving in May, I am leaving NEXT SATURDAY (April 28th), and I cannot wait!! Booked my flights a couple of days ago, and it's come as something of a (very nice) shock that there's no more horrible waiting and apart-ness to get through any more. I have my mum coming round later to help with my packing etc, as I know I'll still be trying to shove stuff in my cases and decide what I'm taking next Saturday morning if I don't get some help here!
Seems like there's loads of us heading over (at long last) in the next few weeks - yay for us all!!

Featherb what happened? I didn't think you'd be leaving so soon!!! Congrats!!!
