Well, I sponsored my wife's Dad to come visit us for 6 months.. So he came.. everything is great. About half way thru his visit we decide to try and extend his visa. We file the I539, send it off... we get the receipt number from Nebraska. They say they got it and it's processing. So.. problem is that his visa expires here in two weeks and we still have not heard anything from Nebraska. Do we kiss the $200 bucks goodbye and put him on the plane? Receipt date is Mar 07.. did we send application too late? Not sure what to do.. can anybody help us?

What reason did you give for staying longer?
