Why w

I know... maaaagic, huh?

Why were we doing this again?

Thank you so much for doing this, I have abandoned this idea due to lack of support.

The reason again .. the original post would be on topic in the posters forum of choice, but it needed to be referenced to another forum where it was on topic as well. This method leaves the post in the first on topic forum (where it could continue to bump to the top of the posters forum of choice; as a reference it could not do this .. less posters upset) and places a link in the second on topic forum for reference there as well.

Thanks again meauxna, you are the best

CB

CB - you have stated it would be helpful and education for posters who are unfamiliar with steps ahead to leave a message in the thread stating *this thread has been moved to xyz* ... on the other hand your concern is that posters have actually CHOSEN the forum where they want to post. isnt this a bit contradictory?

is it about education or is it about letting members in a familiar forum know status updates and such? i would think that :

1. the post is just in general in the wrong spot due to error

2. the poster knows its in the wrong spot and posts in anyway due to familiarity of the forum

either way, i would move them. blush.gif

Completely off topic post

Reference link for message that is on topic in more than one forum / abandoned due to lack of support

is it about education or is it about letting members in a familiar forum know status updates purpose for the yippeee thread and such? i would think that :

1. the post is just in general in the wrong spot due to error

Moved to the correct forum with "moved to xyz forum" notated on the thread list .. people read it and know where to find similar posts and where to make like posts

2. the poster knows its in the wrong spot and posts in anyway due to familiarity of the forum

Moved to the correct forum with "moved to xyz forum" notated on the thread list .. people read it and know where to find similar posts and where to make like posts

I would too

CB, you didn't acknowledge my question at all when I asked....with so many people complaining right now aboutmoved threads, whyshould each member have to *use their own name* and enter "moved to blah blah blah* on the thread when:

1/then people would have a person to *directly* gripe to about the move, even if it was moved appropriately...doesn't mean people are still going to like it! and

2/there is no reason for it (we CAN agree to disagree) because it takes the poster directly TO the correct forum and they can SEE for themselves where it *should* have been placed. You don't give people enough credit, CB...they are not stupid! (nor do I think you are insinuating that theyare...just saying!) M.

Not my idea

You are correct about agreeing to disagree .. and I DON'T think people are stupid nor have I insinuated so

CB...I never said that *you* said we should leave our names. That would simply automatically happen if we posted in the thread...just as with this post. In the same way you know MichelleandCraig made this post, our user name would be entered on any thread we post in.

Whether it's your idea or not, *some* people will continue to complain about their threads being moved, even if it as legit move, and they will know JUST who to gripe to/about. Now do you see what I mean? M.
