Texas hasn't processed K1s in a very long time. It will be automatically forwarded to California and your NOA will come from CA - it's normal.

OK, Thanks so much. I just dont understand why they havent changed their website to reflect this. Also, apologies for posting this redundant topic..after posting it, I read some posts that have already addressed this question.

Thanks for the info. My service center is Texas and I am beginning the process soon.

wised up too late
TSC and NSC don't process K-1 visas.

That's correct. Any I 129f's sent to Texas or Nebraska will be forwarded to the California Service Center. This has been standard procedure for about a year now.

Having just married a Brazilian girl in Brazil the American Consular gave me a sheet that reads "The USCIS office responsible for adjudicating petitions from Brazil is located on St. Albans, Vermont. Please submit petitions directly to them." Thus, unlike the other poster said, I do not think that Brazil petitions go to California but rather Vermont. However, the million dollar question is do you submit to Texas or Vermont. After research, I have decided to submit to the Texas office and let them forward it as I would hate for Vermont to send it back if the official notice the American consular gave me is wrong.

PS: I'm also in Fort Worth. I assume you are marrying and/or married to a Brazilian. Maybe we should keep in touch as the process is very confusing.

Please read the instructions provided with the I-130 (IR1/CR1) or the I-129F (K-3)... I am certain it is more up to date than any "spec" sheet you received from Brazilian consulate.

You really need to familiarize yourself more with this process, because where you file has nothing to do with where your foreign spouse/fiance is. It has to do with the state in which you have residency.

And when you get a little more familiar with the process....you are going to laugh your backside off at the fact that you'd pick TX over VT.

HK,

The USCIS does not process visas of any kind, so it's unlikely that you would find K1 visa information on a USCIS service center's web pages.
You should find something about I-129f petitions - what kind of information were you looking for?

Well it seems the USIC in Texas doesnt do much at all. I called the 1-800 number and after going through about 5-6 "tiers"(i.e. "for english press 1") I get to the place where I am asked to enter the form I am inquiring about(I-129F) and it says it doesnt recognize the form I am trying to enter. WTF? I know I am not crazy because I did this several times and got the same results. Isnt the I-129F the most common of all the frigging forms? Just like the electric company, the gas company, the cable company, the bank etc. They should just have one message that says "you are now living in the 21st century, do not attempt to inquire about anything on the phone. We are busy, now hang up and quit bothering us" I think it would save them alot of money.

Also, am I the only one that has discovered a small but IMPORTANT discrepancy on the USIC website about the fee for an I-129F? One area says $165 and the other place says $170. Which is it? Is it not true that if you do not send in the correct fee your package will be returned? I would gladly pay $200 to the USIC just to avoid this BS, but I am afraid the packet would be sent back. mad.gif

Nadja&Holland
OK, flipped a coin...it's "heads", so I will send $170 mad.gif
GOLDEN.247
K-1 is $170.00
LovinLiberia
The K-1 is $170.00.

YOUR PETITION SHOULD BE SENT TO THE TEXAS SERVICE CENTER.

Even though Texas no longer processes I-129F's (which is why you couldn't find it in the automated system), they do accept them AND AUTOMATICALLY FORWARD THEM TO CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER where it will be processed.
