Hi all, I'm here visiting Lorry in WA. since Feb. I have my brother in-law checking my mail at home in N.S. for my interview letter
To-day in an email updating me on what mail I have he was saying there is talk of a possible upcoming Postal strike looming in Canada.
Has anyone else in Canada heard anything on this. Don't get much Canadian news issues here in WA.

Thanks Allie
MissStacey
I haven't heard anything about a strike yet.

I just got off the phone with Canada Post! I sent Mel all the signed Tax Info and Notarized copies of my ID, and he hasn't got it yet! It is probably a problem at the Border in my case.

I mailed my husband documents last Tuesday and he received them yesterday. I haven't heard about a strike either.

Hard to tell when Canada Post is on strike--since they put the "snail" in "snail-mail".

Huh. Here I thought USPS was bad...

Oh well. As least USPS delivers on Saturdays! tongue.gif

No, they're not on strike at present. The Union is threatening that a mail strike could be a possibility in the future. I was wondering if anyone else heard this in Canada

confirmation that you have not lived in Canada.

For a rejection letter to arrive from a Downtown Calgary office to my Calgary home (in Dalhousie) takes FOUR DAYS typically (based on the postmark), SIX days to Edmonton, and TEN to Montreal or Ottawa.

A letter posted from Midtown Atlanta will arrive at Kennesaw (further than the distance from Canyon Meadows to Dalhousie--close to northern and southern extremes of Calgary) in ONE day, and at Washington DC in THREE.

Also, USPS will pick up outgoing mail from YOUR mailbox (if house/rural--or pick it up from the drop-tray in apartment-complex mailboxes), which Canada Post has NEVER done since at least 1971.

I have always thought the USPS was super!! canada post, not so much, lol
Allie

USPS caused us a lot of unnecessary worry mad.gif it's all in our timeline
Canada Post is not much better It takes 10 days to get mail from Spokane WA to Sydney N.S. and 13 days on the return voyage lol

Which gives more credence to my newest 'motto' in this whole visa process:
Express Post is your friend So is UPS and DHL but they are way more spendy!!!!
