Our AOS case was transferred to CSC on the 13th. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I really hope they don't move this because I am specifically asking ME/NA people.
lion_lioness
from what i've heard it could mean approval and no interview!!!!! dancin5hr.gif
Together4ever
That would be ironic after our hellish K-1 journey. I'm not that optimistic but it would be nice to catch a wee break in this process. Thank you.

This is also what I heard...good development - approval without interview... kicking.gif kicking.gif I would be dancing

as another VJer told me, CSC is the holy grail for AOS. I remain sceptical until I see the green card in hand becuase i experienced CSC for the K-1 and never wanted to go back laughing.gif

I think that it evene might be a good reason for a transfer...you guys had been thru so much and made it so what else they need to see...How happy you finally are...

Yay! I think, for most purposes, that's a GREAT thing! We got transferred to CSC, had no interview, and our greencard was approved 2 months after we filed.

Good luck!
lion_lioness
ahh haaa so Jean, looks like good news, but heh, at least we know it ain't bad wink.gif

best wishes

Oh, I just want to add, the greencard was actually approved less than 2 weeks after our case arrived at CSC. Of course, due to a clerical error, it was another month before the card was in hand, but it was approved and he technically had the right to work, which means a lot in this process.

And I will just add there is a thread of some of the CSC tranferees in the AOS forum, you can jusdge for yourself how quickly this can work. Lotso of people with the green card in 2 months. Of course at CSC you can still get a RFE and or have the case sent back to the locl office for the interview process. Doesn't happen much though. There is still the issue of getting the name check clearance even when going through CSC.

Good luck Jean!

Congrats on the transfer! I will tell you that even if you have to interview, it truly is not that bad. The real hitch whether interviewed locally or going through CSC is the namecheck. Some have been in limbo for months with that.

Best wishes!

Wow, we got transferred the same day you did. This could be interesting to compare notes. Good luck to you too! This is crazy! I wish Moh's EAD would get a touch... better yet an issuance. He really needs it.

And thank you everyone for the good wishes and information.

Jean, our case was also transferred to CSC on 4/04 for AOS. I've heard it's probably good news, but we've had nothing more since then. We really need that EAD to come on thru also!!! wacko.gif I'm just praying for a gift in the mailbox one day soon! whistling.gif

one more minor update on this: I checked the email after posting this and we recieved notice from USCIS that AP was approved and we'd recieve it in the mail soon. AP was the least important one (in my mind), but at least it means they are working on our case! kicking.gif Here's hoping that EAD & AOS are soon to follow! good.gif

Hope you get *some* news soon Jean star_smile.gif
Together4ever
Wow, Noura, that's great news! We didn't even submit AP. Moh thought it was a waste of $$. I sure wish they would do something with the EADs. Its so hard on people to want to start a new chapter in their lives and find themselves sitting and WAITING some more. Thanks for the info!

Good news Noura. We are about 6 weeks behind you.

Jean let's hope our files are attached together for the transfer and the AOS is approved at the same time!

Ours was transferred back in January, the same day as his biometrics.
We have received the AP and EAD, but no progress with our AOS since Valentine's Day. We are again, stuck in the FBI name check.
Good luck to all who got transferred!! rose.gif

Well, I feel a lot better since he received his EAD and AP.
It just irritates me more than anything. It's all because of his stinkin' name. mad.gif
Because they took so long to issue his Visa and now AOS is draggin', we will most likely get an RFE for a new medical since his just expired.
We are planning on going back to Morocco at the end of the year. I'm hoping we can at least get it by then, but I won't be surprised if we don't.

I know alot of people say getting transferred to CSC is so great because you will be approved without an interview and a lot faster, but there are tons of people that have been stuck in name checks for a long time. I'm not saying that to scare anyone, but just to be realistic. Nothing is guarateed with a transfer to CSC.

Good point about CSC transfers! And I didn't think about the medical. YIKES! How frustrating.

Hey Jean! Our AOS was transferred to CSC in November. It was touched in January, but nothing since then. It would be nice if there was no interview though.

That needs to be stressed more often. Most people do the happy dance when they get transferred to CSC. I have to admit, we were quite happy too...til now. We have been waiting 9 months for some sort of action. It appears we are in the name check black hole. Just understand....a transfer doesn't always mean a quick approval as some have had on here. Those cases are teasers to those of us that wait....and wait....and wait....

Unless they transfer you to your local office, you WILL be approved without an interview.

*sigh*... fyi. I requested this to remain in the ME/NA forum but someone saw fit to move it. APOLOGIES.

Together4ever,

Generally it's a good thing.

ME/NA has absolutely nothing to do with it.
