I'm not really sure what the benefits would be really, it all depends on the country each person is from and whether they allow their citizens to have dual citizenship. Colombia automatically lets its citizens keep their Colombian citizenship even if they become naturalized citizens of another country. And to be honest with you, I can't come up with one benefit or disadvantage of holding both citizenships. biggrin.gif

if u travel back to egypt with an american passport u will probably have to pay for a visa. if u travel with ur egyptian one...well no visa. that would be a benifit of keeping ur egyptian citizenship.

the only benefit is when traveling to Egypt

Probably quite a few benefits, but as I do not know Egyptian law on the matter it would be difficult to be specific.

Presumably a non national wanting to work/move to Egypt would have issues, a national does not.

No doubt there are countries where an Egyptian Passport is an advantage compared to a US one.

Turkey for example charges US Passport holders much more for a Visa than anybody else, or they did last time I visited.

$100 for my wife, about 4 years ago, when the Embassy was bombed, we flew out the same day to Istanbul, not many tourists around that weekend.
